I've got to know why anyone would put guitars they count as prized instruments in a storage unit. All 14 of my guitars are here in my home. I'm going to guess and say that Fender is doing the Mexican made Rocky as a olive branch considering their recent legal issues with overcharging. I'm so used to an SG with a wider neck a slim taper wouldn't feel right. But then again it seems Epiphone is selling this new line as a good beginner guitar. And why not.

I just don't understand why he would have them at a storage facility instead of having a secure safe like Eddie Van Halen's. I'd keep my stuff close to home and not at an everyday joeshmo can get access to

I keep my stuff at a uhaul locker. Mostly empty cases, old crappy guitars I’ll never play but sentimentally can’t get rid of BUT I also have my few high dollar guitars there as well. This makes me think. On the one hand I can see the logic of how it would have to be an Inside job. The hallways light up as you walk down them, it’s not a 24 hour facility and there’s always people around during working hours and everything is on camera. That said nobody is paying attention to anything at all. I bet if I went there to my own locker and tried to pick my own lock I could sit there with a hammer and chisel for an hour and I doubt anyone would approach me. Pretty sure if you just had the balls to do it than it wouldn’t be a problem. Also if you shut the door behind you chances are good the owner won’t be coming back for a while and won’t realize the stuff is missing. I’m sure at some point they just re-use the surveillance tapes so yeah. It totally wreaks of an Inside job but logically think about if you went to break I to your own. Pretty sure you’d get in without being approached.

In 2011 I had 26 guitars stolen on cape cod. And also about $60,000 of other music equipment and personal items. Everything. They caught him with 2 guitars that he had pawned at the only pawnshop in Hyannis at that time, that was really a fencing operation but the two guitars I really REALLY want back is my mid 80s Ibanez Roadstar II in seafood green with chrome original Floyd Rose and my Alvarez PD100s acoustic those had the tree of life inlay. Very personal guitars. If anyone from the New England area ever sees one of those guitars for sale please contact me I had them marked discreetly and can identify them with the right pics. I will pay market value or more to get them back. The acoustic was rumored to have ended up on Nantucket but that was over a decade ago. I bought that Ibanez with the first paycheck from my first job. The Alvarez I bought when I had saved up some money for a real nice acoustic and we fell in love with each other lol

I work at GC and got a chance to see the Power Players a couple weeks before they launched and they’re awesome. The branding is great; on the box there are four superhero types characters and each model (so far..) has a name and a character. I believe they’re “Mad Scientist Les Paul” and “Rock Monster SG.” The best part is there are two other characters on the box. Perhaps an Explorer and a Flying V?? But they also feel great. Ok why to buy a guitar made in USA by Mexicans when you can buy the same guitar made by Mexicans in Mexico for half the price? For me the quality of Indonesia and Mexico is even better that some of the USA, the only difference can be electronics and metal parts that are easily changeable , I prefer to decide by myself which pick up configuration I want in a specific guitar . The only guitar that I really would pay the difference of money is from Martin guitars , and I'm a Taylor guy . So that bs that USA guitars are best is pure bs , and in a world so full of it people would pay amounts of money just to fulfill teenager dreams , I have no problem with that but don't come to me with that bs like "oh it's cheap cause it's Mexico made and that implies it's low quality", when the truth goes in the other way . Everyone decides how to spend their money , for me guitars are musical instruments and I made my decisions based on how they sound and not how they look or who plays them or how much will be their value in 20 years .Sorry maybe I'm crazy

I enjoy Austin documenting collector guitars, as it's something different from the too many channels promoting the same gear on it's release day. Seems like a genuinely cool guy, as well; so you may be just envious of the money aspect. ...I am a little, but I also give him props for his success. ...Anyway, I'm really commenting to help you with this wisdom: Life is too short to watch any content you don't like. Go watch something that inspires you, makes you laugh, or a performance that gives you goosebumps...or better yet; go play a guitar you already own and love.

@@Ninjametal basic wisdom in the art of presenting is know your audience, know your product, these guitars are clearly made to be marketed towards children to get a higher quality first guitar experience as opposed to the plastic things some kids get or the too big things some kids get that turn them off to playing. So as a music lover, here is an interesting, inspiring move by a company, and Trogs has children he could have seen this, but instead he did not, he completely missed the original intent and wanted to look at them through the parameters of a high dollar full size guitar or a travel guitar intended for adults. Going back to my original point, know your viewer, most viewers are not in the bubble he has been in of high dollar Gibson flips and over priced belt buckles. Most of his viewers are loyal, don't watch for the musical abilities but for the information with personality, however every now and then, a back to earth moment is always needed, and you my friend don't have to be so defensive ninja

The new Epiphones are obviously targeting kids - as you can see from the advert, so why comparing them to full length guitars? Also Epiphone is an established brand and don’t rip anyone off as you said - so it makes total sense. Plus the way they market it (“first forever guitar”) most likely implies that when you grow up you’ll get a real LP / SG from either Epiphone or Gibson

Those scaled down Epiphones… they must’ve seen how popular the Fender Japan scaled down models were, I can only imagine if they tried doing a 3/4 sized bass like that Jazz Bass with the 30” scale. In my case I'll use a military grade switch of 2 provided by Hughes Airospace Division in Malibu, California when I ran a scrap metal business and bought their scrap and found lots of interesting objects I didn't sell for scrap like an aluminum air valve, nicely made. Used one of them when I ran aquariums for a short lived hobby thank to my daughter. She has the gift of a skilled artist. I'd love to show off her earlier work when she was in high school.

Trogly. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Fender do the same thing with the Rosewood Tele? There was a Custom Shop version that went for crazy money and then they made the American made limited. THEN they re released THAT again this year. So honestly, I think the people who purchased the TELE got it a lot worse. Not only did they make a more affordable version...they did it TWICE. So both the collectors of the Hyper expensive one and the less expensive one(If you call $2400 less expensive back in 2017) got dinged by those who could get it for "less" this year(Again, if you call $2800 less expensive) Plus there is one huge difference between the Tele and Strat from the CS and the ones made for us folks who can't pay CS prices....The hand wound Abbie pickups. Both the CS Tele and CS Rocky have pickups handwound by Abigail. The Rosewood had 65 Grey Bottoms and the Rocky Strat has "60s Style" pickups.
