Thank you so much for sharing all these info's. I just got the helix floor and was having a hard time learning the unit. I am fan of the Morley wah and use it aggressively so that little Info was life saving. Once again thank you 😃

Thanks for the tip on the wah, dude! And yeah, with these units it can be an endless chase of amp and preamp types so I appreciate the advice you're giving folks to focus on a more signature sound with perhaps one amp type and starting simple and diversifying from there.

It’s been working great for me. And if I ever decide I’m tired of “my sound” I just have to switch amp models and I’m back in business.

Appreciate the tips, Karl! Just getting started with Helix myself, moving over from my old Boss GT-1000. Still "finding my way" (Rush pun intended), so soaking up as many tips like these as I can.

Glad I could help! The 1000 was a great pedal. I can imagine the biggest step in learning the Helix will be unlearning the Boss. Good luck.

Hi, Thanks for the tips. It has set me wondering. Should I have these input and output DB meters on my HX Stomp, showing up on HX Edit?
@everythingtoexcess
3 жыл бұрын
Sadly, no. I was using Helix Native for the video and didn’t realize at the time that the meters weren’t there in HX Edit. Hopefully it’s something they’ll add in future updates.

How can I hook up the helix for my piezo?
@everythingtoexcess
Жыл бұрын
Pretty easy. I split the piezo into the aux in and then I can process it separately. I got a pretty good acoustic IR, then add a compressor and the tube mic preamp model and whatever effects I want. There’s a thing about it in the video.

Where do you set your low cut on your cabs? You said 3.4 on high cuts
@everythingtoexcess
Жыл бұрын
Depends on what I’m going for and who I’m playing with. Generally between 120 and 150, but I’ve been known to go as high as 200 or 250 to make the overall band mix less cluttered.

With the rack, I have the Helix floorboard and two Mission Engineering pedals. One has a toe switch, the other doesn’t. That’s all mounted to a Gator pedal board that goes into a nifty canvas bag.

Here's a tip. You are running your inputs too hot, on helix you want to stay in -12 db to -36 db range on the input
