Marcos never misses! Thank you for all the education over the years and thank you for the transparency. I just encountered some of these things. It is rewarding to have a team but sometimes you have run solo.

I remembered when I was a one-man band and for one of my shoots, I had forgotten to hit record. It wasn't until about half an hour later when I realized that. Now I have a checklist I go through to make sure I don't miss anything.

Oh wow!! That has happened to me as well. Nowadays, as pre-caution I always ask for verbal confirmation from my crew that we are in fact rolling.

Super helpful info! I watched this last night as a refresher and just returning home from a successful interview shoot. Appreciate the insights. Your checklist was a blessing.

One thing I had ALOT of trouble with recently is picking up radio frequencies when using A Zoom H5/H6 and boom mic. Make sure you have back up lav mics for audio.

Yep, I have done a few of those :p Also, when using a teleprompter you need to remember to account for the 1 to 1 1/2 stop of light loss. Opps.
@MarcosRochaTV

There you go... that's another one to remember.
@joshdiditt

Can you explain that? How do you lose light when using a Teleprompter?
@Justin_Allen
3 жыл бұрын
@@joshdiditt The optical glass loses the 1 to 1 1/2 stops because of the material it's made out of. It's optically clear regarding the image, but loses those stops. Cheaper ones can lose as much as 3 stops. My lesson was when using two identical cameras make sure that you adjust the stops on the one with the teleprompter. :p They are usually 30% reflection and 70% transmission. So mine is not quite 1 full stop but that's what I adjust for now.

Some are 40%/60% so you have to be careful when you buy.
