living less than an hour south of cp, this sure brings back memories. what was known as the mill race, many of us locals called it simply the log ride. it was popular because you got wet but not soaked. going on rotor after lunch and watching kids turn green was pretty funny. and with the witches wheel, i went on that every year, i knew people who went on the biggest coasters that wouldn't go near it.

Some great memories! I have a friend who is the same on similar rides to Witches Wheel, but I love them.

A couple of rides I remember fondly, but are less mentioned: the double Ferris wheel was one, which I remember was located near the middle of the midway, then relocated just inside the entrance. The second wasn’t really a ride per se, but was a nice diversion, especially for the younger kids. There was a large fiberglass slide with maybe 12 lanes done-by-side, and maybe 20 feet high. You’d grab a burlap bag, climb the stairs, and slide down on your burlap bag.

i remember the giant slide, it rocked! i would say it was more like 30 or 40 feet high, but i could be wrong. i also remember the earthquake ride and the fun house which was next to the slide. those were some fun times.

White Water Landing did have an accident on July 20, 2002, which you did not mention in your previous Lost Rides video of Cedar Point. Two boats got jammed together at the bottom of the hill, and the next boat collided with another boat when it came down the hill. All six people only suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital, where they were shortly released. The ride reopened the next day after an investigation. I assume that it happened on the 2nd drop. But I can't be sure.

Thanks you for sharing, I would presume the same. Sometimes I don’t like to go into too much details about accidents. But I’m sometimes asked for a video exploring them, so maybe I should do one.

I once went to Cedar Point with my family in the early 1970's. There was a hotel right in the park at that time called The Hotel Breakers. It was very hot that day, and the Shoot the Rapids ride, where you get splashed, was very popular that day. There was also the Space Needle, a spiral that rose 300 feet above the park, and you might even look out across Lake Erie, and see the tip of Canada, if visibility was good enough, and it rarely ever is. The three big roller coasters at that time were, The Blue Streak, The Jumbo Jet, and The Wildcat.

I’d love to have seen the park back then. You have a good memory for all those old attractions. Check out my original lost rides of Cedar Point video to see some of those rides!

I used to live in the Cleveland area in those days, but I now live in New Jersey, and the closest amusement park to me is now Six Flags Great Adventure, located in Jackson, NJ. They once had a ride very much like The Deamon Drop, but at Six Flags, it was called Free Fall. They now have a roller coaster very much like The Top Thrill Dragster, but here, it is called Kingda Ka.

When they moved Chaos, it replaced Schwabinchen a Mack Hully Gully ride.

You can still ride mantis, just as rougaroo

You sure can still ride it, and I have! I class it as a lost ride due to the different ride experience. I know some people who count the two rides as separate coaster credits, but I dont go that far!

I've been on both, and they both beat me up with headbanging, the ride would be better if it had comfort collars on it.

I’m with you on the banging, but because of my height I never get on with comfort collars or vest restraints.

Thank you so much for your comment. I’ve had many people ask for a follow up and there are plenty more rides to include. Two good suggestions here!
