Thank you. I am a parent with a high school student daughter who is pursuing a career in music. Your video gave us a lot to think about. She is a year and a half away from high school graduation, so this gives her some things to work on.

Set the playback speed to 1.25, trust me it will make the audio sound more clear.

This was incredibly helpful! Thank you. It definitely illuminated some mistakes I made on my undergrad applications that I now know not to make when I apply for grad school. I’d love to see a video about the differences between applying for undergrad vs. grad school! Thanks!

Have had much success with my students entering music schools of all types. Just have had a lot of experience over my 70 years of teaching. Very solid thoughts you have expressed Hope Students listen to you. Parents need to hear this too. Keep it up, please. People are looking for this kind of guidance. One year, i had 3 students get in to Juilliard at the same time. Two pianists and one composer. Glad you accentuated music theory. Many teachers do not include this in their teaching but they should. I also teach composition as well as piano to all students. The broader the picture, the better. Rosamond van der Linde

Great video!!! I would love to watch more. Can you talk more about the music supplements? Even the ones that are optional and not necessarily for a music major.

How would you suggest one should approach a faculty member at a music school to request the "trial lesson"?
