I cannot thank you enough for modelling mindfulness! Changing your perspective (reads feminine, no! It's the color, it would be great on any style and body) and being open to do it "on air" reminds us that we are always growing and changing. And yes, I love the patchwork pullover :)

Tellybean Knits does a kind of mystery advent kal. You actually see the pattern in gray scale, but it is made for an advent yarn set. it was designed for the suburban stitcher kit, but can be done in any other dyer. Last year's was lovely, and I'm excited for this years. Pattern name is Grand Opening.

I am contemplating a Sweet Shop Blanket with scraps and minis! I have so many and love the quilt look! Knitty McPurly has a few great shawl/wrap patterns that were previously designed as a MKALs for Advent. They're up on her website now. I know at least one was designed for 10g minis so it's perfect for scrap busting!

Thank you for such a fun video! It is the perfect motivation to finish my last projects before Dec 1st. I also just want to enjoy, so I’m going to knit the Litmus Cowl as my advent project. Designed for 24 5g minis, I’m using 12 20g minis, using my colors twice. And the rest will become a Sweet Shop Blanket. I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I saw it. It will also be my scrappy blanket, since you can keep adding to it. I’m looking forward to see all your 10 advents everyday!

AAANNNDDD The Cozy Comfort Throw was my Advent blanket last year! My advent was from Southern Skeins and I held each color with a cream colored yarn. I love how it turned out. I did get a little bored with doing just straight garter every day, so I ended up doing a garter border and then every 3rd color or so I would work a little different stitch pattern in. I really love how the blanket turned out in the end.

With my “main” indie dyed calendar I plan to make a “Advent Throw Wolop 2020” which is a simple garter and eyelets blanket for a 24x10g advent, knitted with an extra strand of mohair. I also have a Sweet Shop blanket on the go to (started with my own leftovers from stash) which I’ll add a 12x10g scrappy advent.

I got the Vegan Yarn (Canada) advent for the 3rd year in a row! The last two years I made rectangular wraps, last year's as my wedding shawl (it was a speckled fade, stunning!). This year it's a solid earthy fade, I'm not sure what to make with it yet. I'll open everything and then see what it wants to be. Edit to add: the advent actually comes in a cardboard box with little windows to open!

I am also getting the Lavender Lune Holiday box and a 10 skein Downton Abbey theme mystery set from Sewrella.

The language of “advents” is unfortunate. I know this has grown out of the tradition of kids (and adults) opening a treat each day leading up to Christmas. However, Advent is a season of Christian Churches. The church year begins with the first Sunday of Advent - the fourth Sunday before Christmas. The length of Advent depends on the day of the week on which Christmas falls. For example, Christmas 2023 is on a Monday. The fourth Sunday of Advent is December 24. Advent does not necessarily begin on December 1 - actually, it rarely does! I have no suggestion for a different name for this season in the secular world. Hearing so, so many people refer to “advents” makes me think the world has lost the true meaning of waiting for the arrival - the ADVENT - of Jesus Christ. What can we call the season?
