You rock with your incredible energy and smarts ! One idea I could share is instead of tuna,(mercury) use wild sockeye salmon or red salmon ! I like Primal kitchen mayo which is made out of avocados, organic and super healthy . Break up 6 or more black olives for more good fats. Season with a small pinch of Himalayan salt, garlic granules, lemon pepper, dill, parsley flakes and a squeeze of lemon for a sandwich, wrap or open face ! When I'm at home I like to use the open face and top it with sliced avacodo, sliced cheddar or keerygold cheese and put it under the boiler a few minutes ! Also, Kerrygold butter and a few sprigs of rosemary is the bomb when you cook steaks ! Keep up the great content ! Love your channel ! Peace👣

Thanks Amanda, I enjoy watching your videos especially the food ones! I sometimes make a salad with a pouch of cooked quinoa and add other ingredients. You could do something similar with a tin of chickpeas or mixed beans. Where I live you can buy vacuum pouches of cooked beetroot which are handy to store and great to add into salads, wraps etc.

Along with the pb&j but I take a tortilla and put the peanutbutter and Jelly on that except I sprinkle in rice krispies cereal to give it some crunchy texture. I learned it at college and it's really good.

When it's a hot day, keep sandwich vegetable toppings that contain liquid in the liquid-free bags Amanda recommended in one of her videos. I bought those bags, and it's a good thing we put tomatoes and pickles because, by the end of our hike, we could have had a soggy sandwich.

... Always have to check out your video's ... doesn't matter how long some of us have been spending time in the outdoors ,, you seem to bring something new and different to the game ,, I thank you .. Usually if things are running tight and no real plans of a first day cooked meal .... I have a habit of stopping at a Subway along the route and pick up 2-3 footlong subs cut into quarters to hold things over ... car camping can handle coolers and extra gear ,,, while a backpack trip ,, I might not want to break open the pack , leaving it ready for a morning depart .... and subs can travel as well ,(as long as they are kept simple with no mayonnaise or anything that won't be stable for a day or two ... serve as great break or lunch meals as well ..

I love videos like this. I am African born and bred, I am always suprised when I read/hear about how much Americans eat out. I've been to the US a few times and immediately noticed how easy it was to shop and eat homemade meals even with little to zero cooking skills. I'm glad when I watch videos like these that highlight this fact. Lots of love from Nigeria 🇳🇬

I love. My trick, freeze the non-carbonated beverages and meat. So there is less slush and meet is good for more days. , cabbage based salad mixes. Napa cabbage is a good romain replacement. Only ever have hot cocoa dry mix or baked beans camping. Allergic to many things, so I make my own trail mix.

Most Americans grew up with peanut butter and jelly. Jelly is like jam only jam is thicker. There is even a product of peanut butter and jelly swirled together in a jar. This has been on the market since the 60’s. You don’t even need bread…just a spoon!

To any Americans reading this, what is peanut butter and jelly? Is it peanut butter and jam? Seems like a weird combo. Is it nice?!
@brittneycerritos4515

Yes, it's delicious. Peanut butter, jelly, and bread. It's probably one of the most common lunches for children in the US. Jam vs. Jelly is slightly different but not significantly.

@@brittneycerritos4515 I must try it. Peanut butter isn’t common in Ireland where I’m from. A common lunch for children here are ham sandwiches 😂 I like jam on bread or with scones and fresh whipped cream. That’s common here too. The only jelly we’d eat is with ice cream!

How do you keep your coolers cold for more than a day? I buy ice from the market and that melts within hours. Do you use a specific cooler that makes ice last longer?
@amanda.outside
3 жыл бұрын
We do have a good cooler and we use ice blocks. I have a Yeti Tundra cooler and it works really well, but we also use bigger frozen ice blocks or ice packs. They stay cold longer than ice cubes. On longer trips, we will add ice if needed, but for shorter weekend trips, the ice blocks work great for us! I have made a note on my video idea list to talk about cooler tips and tricks!
