Amazing video with wonderful recommendations! (Especially partial to Franz Fanon.) Over the past couple of years, I've been listening to Peter Adamson's History of Philosophy Without Any Gaps (HoPWAG) podcast, especially the eighty or so episodes he's dedicated to the philosophy and social thought of Africa and the African Diaspora. He's doing them in conjunction with Chike Jeffers, a philosopher at Dalhousie University in Canada. Big recommend from me if you're interested in the long arc from people like Phyllis Wheatley and Benjamin Banneker all the way up figures like Ngugi wa Thiong'o and Sylvia Winter. One of my favorite podcasts of all time. Thanks for this much-needed video!

Wow, I actually used to listen to History of Philosophy Without Any Gaps years ago and I completely forgot about it. Thanks so much for the reminder - I will definitely be adding this back into my regular rotation and I appreciate drawing my attention to the plethora of episodes about Africa and the African diaspora. Are there any particular episodes you would recommend? Although, from what I remember of the podcast, they're probably all excellent. Thanks so much for the positive feedback and continued support!

@@NnennaReads So, so many. I've made it a point since I found out about it to go back and start making filling journals with my notes of each episode. I'm only up through the 200s, so I have a lot of work to go. For the Africana series, I was wrong ... there are more like 140 episodes, not eighty. I remember loving the episodes about Stuart Hall, Phyllis Wheatley, Audrey Lorde, Walter Rodney, Kwame Nkrumah, all of Fanon's episodes (he got three), C.L.R. James, Carter Woodson ... and that's just the tip of the iceberg. So glad to run into another HoPWAG lover out there. I figured I might have run into a kindred spirit when I found you! Have a wonderful weekend.

@@NicholasOfAutrecourt Thanks immensely for the episode recommendations! I've been reading some of Lorde, C.L.R. James and Woodson's work so I'll definitely start with those episodes but I'll be sure to listen to all the ones you recommended. That's what I love so much about this little nook of the booktube community - a way to meet like minded folks! Thanks so much for the wishes, hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!
