So I am entertaining the possibility of studying sociology in my fourth year of physics and let me tell you why I found your video helpful. I am a physics major but after some life-changing events, I came to the realization that I am more suitable for human and society-related issues. Even back when I was doing physics, most of my interest was in sociology/psychology books and not physics-related. Physics is limiting for me and I want to study something with a more holistic approach(as you said in the video) and something that involves humans LOL. Your video gave me great insight into career and subject diversity, it is straightforward. Thank you!

Do you feel studying sociology can give you mental health problems because you are constantly aware of injustices and are more likely to take a victimhood stance in the world? I find it demotivating to try at life anymore because I am aware that life is mostly unfair from what I studied in the sociology unit I did at university. I feel like, ignorance is bliss lol
@JoellePhuaLife
3 жыл бұрын
This is a tough one, I've come to the conclusion that yes, it is depressing but at the same time, the injustices *compells* me to try and alleviate those in some way in my life. So taking an active stance takes that victim mentality away. The more we turn a blind eye, the more we allow those injustices to happen, and we as Sociology students have the privilege to "see" these things. At the end of the day, having the ability to be ignorant is a privilege too. Hope this helps!

I didn't do psychology so I can't speak accurately on that but in terms of sociology, if you're interested in - - how society works and how it affects individuals (and vice versa) - thinking critically and analysing your own way of thinking/biases then you'll pretty much be 100% suited to Sociology. I'd also advise asking about the topics you'll be studying to get a better idea and go from there - hope that helps!

Hi! I've been looking around majors to see which ones i like. I really love literature and many social sciences but they seem to pigeonhole you in the future when it comes to finding employment. However sociology not only seems to align with my interests but also provides an array of job prospects. I wanted to know how you can make yourself available to employers, what are some skills you should equip yourself with like hard skills? Cos some ppl say that knowing hard skills like coding is pretty important alongside sociology. I'm really confused as to what i should do to prepare myself in college and idw to drop this choice i've found because the subject matter really interests me for something like information technology that still looks decent but not as interesting.

We have all sinned and fallen short of Gods glory sin is terrible because of sin we are separated from God but gladly here is the good news Jesus Christ came and walked this earth for everyone taught us the perfect way to live and how we should live and he died for our sins because we need a sacrifice to pay the price for our sins since our sins deserve hell if we live in sin but also more good news Jesus rose from the dead three days later we have to leave the sin behind and put it away and live new with Jesus this world is like a vapor it passes away but your eternity is forever and it is up to you what you want to do with it Jesus Christ is coming soon….
