i never understood the hold tune argument because for me i have a cheap 6 point trem on one of my guitars and i swapped a graph tech nut, and dont have the trem floating and i never have any problems... this is on a 400$ guitar, just get a good nut, intonate the bridge and adjust the claw to the right spot and you should be good

Super strats are the default guitar shape might not be ur fav but usually every player has at least 1! Most comfortable easy payable shape! My fav super strat shape is the Ibanez RGA! It's the sleaker carved version of the RG & just a Swifter Ax to swing!

Great video. Absolutely true. One you forgot is that super strats have a double cutaway and the upper horn helps balance the guitar so much better than a single cut or like and SG that is usually neck heavy. I love my Charvel Preditor which has a standard humbucker in the bridge and a rail single coil sized stacked humbucker in the neck where the harmonic is. With HSH and 24 frets I think you lose a little of that pickup positioning thing, but I love the HSH options as well. A good solid trem will stay in tune great as you said, and they are so easy. The problem is that people don't understand them. It's just a balancing act with strings and the springs in the trem and making sure your strings are stretched properly. Once that's done, my Ibanez edge trem jap guitar s series which I love with the low pro edge stays in tune with incredible abuse of the trem as does my Geqn made Shaller trem on my Charvel preditor crackle guitar. Do you have a Facebook I can follow sir? Thanks for the videos. Great info man. It cracks me up how young guys like yourself appreciate the music Is grew up and played during the 80s. Played some gigs in Indy, and a lot of fun with friends all during that time. Ada mp1 into a Marshall power amp with cord and super strat was the thing to have. Best regards my friend.. Southern Indiana. USA. Tim..

Superstrats are awesome. I have always preferred them. I totally agree about the upper fret access and the thumb. That’s a big reason why I love my music man majesty. You can get your thumb all the way up to the 24th fret basically. I know a majesty is not really a traditional superstrat, but I see it as an evolution of it.

I personally think Les Pauls are more moddable… ok you can’t remove the neck, but a bridge mod is really easy and sth you can’t really do with a trem based super strat (I swapped mine for a bell brass one and the sustain is huge!)… a pick up swap is easier too and if you wanna change string gauge, maybe tune to D or C# standard, you just detune and tweak the truss.. this is a nightmare on my ibanez guitars, tho I love them.. I think gibsons play better too and contrary to shredder lore, they have just as quick necks, just as fast as an Ibby super wizard… remember VH was a huge LP fan and user as well as 335!

Speaking of playability...I just bought a ESP LTD m-1000 purple with thr EMG 57/66. Extra thin U neck isn't as thin as I thought it would be but still very nice. I think Schecters ultra Thin C is still the best though.

I have a 2015 American super strat I kinda inherited from my father. He never even got it set up. The action was awful. I kinda just don't know what to do with it? I have other guitars with humbuckers and i want to start playing things other than your basic 70s punk ,acdc, gnr, mid to fast tempo rock. Hopefully this video helps. I love 60s r&b not really into classic rock to much no cream or deep purple. If anyone has any advice or could point me in the right direction? Fun but also helping with fundamentals ? I'm new but i feel i could be a decent guitar player if i just knew where to start?

3:17 I don't think you can really call it a superstrat unless the trem has a locking function like the Floyd Rose or Ibanez Edge. Also, some superstrats have neck-through construction like my Jackson Soloist.
@jimmyjames7946
Жыл бұрын
Correct 💯 on all 10 in my opinion. For me i need a locking Floyd rose that once strings are stretched does NOT go out of tie. Whoever says that needs to put the pipe down 🤣🤣 . Even after hammering on trem bar. I have tried and tried different guitars over 30 years but always go back 🤘🤘
@gravelrocks5588

Actually trem guitars stay in tune better... just a pain to get in tune in the very beginning because of the Springs... For that reason my new custom guitar build is going to be with a locking nut and fine tuners on the bridge so it will be a locking system but without the Springs or the trem . I'm thinking it will stay in tune so much better🤘🤘🤘🤘

Totally agree! Super cool story time: I have always enjoyed the music of shredders equipped with a trem (Satriani, Hammet, Vai, Loomis, Wardingham, etc.). So, my first 7 string guitar was a cheapo ESP LTD with a floyd special. Big mistake -- it was used and the neck and knife edges were worn/crap. I later sold a hardware synthesizer so that I could get a better guitar. My second floyd rose guitar ended up being a b-stock 7-string Schecter that I couldn't intonate (The low B-string maxed out the bridge saddle and still fretted sharp). So, I returned it in sheer frustration. In spite of my tastes in guitar music, my scoreboard read two strikes against floyd roses. One more strike and I was going to say "YOU'RE OUT!" I got that money back (I rarely have disposable income) so I pitched the ball to give the Floyd Rose one last chance. Thanks to youTubers like Neogeofanatic and Cameron Cooper, I decided to give up on 7 string guitars and try a regular ol' six-string superstrat: A Charvel So-Cal. I was able to buy it at a discount price as floor-model and it was a grand slam -- knocked it out of the park! You could say that I sacrificed my dream of a seventh string so that I could have a fully functioning Floyd Rose. I have no regrets!

you actually need like 6 super strats, so that you have a floyd rose set up for each tuning you might want. drop a, b standard, c# standard, open c, drop d, d standard, eb standard, e standard, e all fourths. whatever. but... everyone should ideally have 15-20 guitars minimum.
