There's a lot of whining all around Europe, especially from people with political agendas. Fact is, we have some of the highest living standards in the world. I've met some people who fled their countries to come to mine (Greece) in the middle of our crisis and they couldn't believe their luck because bombs weren't going off over their heads. Europeans should be looking to further improve the lives of all our people of course but we also should bear in mind just how good we have it.

when someone say good things about Germany and germans, they are telling the truth. when i was new here (about 32 years ago) i only saw the negative things in that, they are not friendly, sport activities are expensive and time consuming (like getting a license to fish and before you do you have to attend a class and to pass a license exam which defeat the purpose sometimes because by the time you pass your examination, the fishing season is over), even for salesgirls, they only not learn how to be a salesgirl they also specialize (salesgirl for bakery shops, flower shops, butcher etc.) or how expensive it is to get a driver's license etc. After awhile, i realize they do that because they want to be top in everything they do. That's why Made in Germany is known around the world. Germans should be proud of that.
@starflight4647

In Germany, the fishing laws are strict, but that's a good thing, after all, because it's about living things! If you have a fishing rod with you that is for a certain type of fish that you're not allowed to catch in that time, you have to pay a fine. You don't want the animals to suffer a lot here, so you have to take a course and abide by the law.

My great grandfather's from Germany. It wasn't it's best hr so he split. I've always been proud to be a American but lately it seems to be losing its values placed upon its forefathers. The trash in the streets the straight disrespect for the law the media making situations worse. The big thing is Corruption. It seems Germans try hard to make a good image for there country and stands for a nation. Here in the states it seem alot of people more stand as a individual then a nation. It's not to see how to better as a whole but only to better as a individual. Americas Constitution is a amazing thing but people try to bend and break it again only to help them self as a individual. We have are problems but the best way to over come it is to come together. We need to better as a whole not as a individual a group or a race but as a whole.

What about German laws? the only country in the world to have no speed limits in certain areas is a good idea. I disagree. The statement is an exaggeration with no credibility at all. I just had high speed (up to 304 Km/h) runs yesterday multiple times on multiple stretches. The Autobahn is constantly being maintained somewhere and most of the time (and most of the distance) is NOT under construction. Regarding American cars handling autobahn. I wouldn't dare drive normal American cars at high speed. I know for a fact for example that the previous generation BMW X5 had a so called "high speed package" as one of its standard configuration elements on vehicles destined for the German market. This included larger and stiffer anti-roll bars...

I have been living in Germany for 5 years now. I use to be a soldier and met a German woman and got married so I stayed here. Besides missing family every single thing about being in Germany will always be better than living in America. Simply driving I've only ever seen 4 police cars randomly driving around and that's in 5 years (excluding Polizei at the scene of a traffic accident). When I am near the Polizei I do not fear them as I do American police. Germans are a peaceful people. I have never even seen Germans fight only Americans fighting each other for some stupid reason or another. The year long indoor pools are really nice. The Biergarten is my absolute favorite place to eat so it sucks when it is not warm enough to be open. Germany as a whole has great food, but I personally think Bavaria has the best food on earth. Same as you said about going to the states again last time I went I had not been home for 2 years and everytime I left the house I was kind of afraid haha and of course the food messed my stomach up again. Only 1 thing I wish could change about Germany is warmer weather. Although now I have been I have to have me some Weinachtsmarkt and Glühwein!

And the people you are talking about are actual criminals and well known for the most part. Those might be handled in a wrong way. Granted. But the majority of the refugees are decent people out of luck. We have more than enough luck to spare you know. Stop being so greedy and grow a conscience. How can you enjoy all your luxury knowing there's people suffering everywhere. It's time for heads to be pulled out of our owns behinds. If a healthy state like Germany would turn refugees Away, what is our wealth worth? Nothing.

Well,im not really with ya at point 12. Public transportation,especially trains,are fucked up hard. I was in Finland for about a month and what i saw there was that,what youre describing here. There were Busses and trains,which drove like every 5-10 minutes,EVERYWHERE in Finland. You have this "luxus" only in the big cities of Germany. If you live in a little town or something like that,youre kinda fucked because you can only take a bus/train whatever every 2 hours. So i wouldnt mention this point as a positive aspect in Germany. Ps.: My English sucks,i know,trying my best. :3 Greetings Kevin

Things are pretty bad in the states. A lot of people have choices to make when it comes to healthcare: you can either have your insulin or you can have groceries, but you can't have both. When you go into the emergency room with chest pains, but you don't have health care, the doctors will look at you but not closely. They'll stabilize you enough to send you back into the street, and when your family discovers you dead in the bed the next day, the doctors will just say, "He was fine when he left here yesterday." American Healthcare: you got the money you get care. If you don't have money, good luck. "Honey, I just got the emergency room bill. It says we owe 30,000, but they didn't do nothing. They're saying if we don't pay it then they're going to send it to collections." Isn't America grand?

I don't like to say that, but i have the impression of america cannibalizing itself. How are things going a year in....corona-pandemic and that? I picture scenes from medieval germany when the plague ravaged the country and corpse-collectors took care of the piles of deceased in the towns. People will actually have to decide if they can afford to be saved or just die of the flu? Brave and free i guess.......take care.

@Anna Sichla Great message in that video but, as it often happens with social media, I think you misunderstood what I said in my post. I'll try not to do the same with your comment. "Stop blaming your family..." is judgmental and way off base here. I'm not blaming my family at all. While I meant what I said in my comment about missing the good old days, they are just that... the good old days. Times change, circumstances change. I *chose* to get married and have kids and am committed to my family. The life we have here keeps us here for a number of reasons. Walking away from what I committed to just to satisfy my occasional bouts of nostalgia, would be quitting in its highest form.

The american culture just fits into the german one and if afro americans don‘t feel threatened they won‘t hurt you. if you show em the respect they deserve, they‘ll treat you just fine. north african culture doesnt collab with the german it‘s as simple
