*Hiring a right hand for yourself should be approached seriously. I would do several steps interview to check the personality (how we click), professionalism (work ethic), overall philosophy of life (to reassure that we have same goals and values in life). Thanks Patrick.*

If you're going to hire an assistant make sure you're not expecting 24/7 help. You're an adult and should be able to do certain things for yourself. Your assistant will have things they need to do for themselves and their loved ones. They also need vacation and sick days. They have rights.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have been an executive assistant to C-Suite executives for 15 years. I have done all the things you mentioned and more. Finally someone understands that each of those four positions is a totally different animal. Great video for executives to see. My husband is an organizational psychologist and many people would be surprised to hear that this is one area that he questions the executive about. If they don’t get the right assistant, it can really hold them back. Fantastic video.

Patrick, you are one of my biggest mentors. I have been watching your videos for years now and it seems every time I really need an opinion on something you post the exact video I need help with or I find one of your older videos. I’m currently in the process of hiring my first VA. I have been through 250 job applicants narrowed it down to 40, interviewed 30 now I have 6 solid candidates left to interview. I can only hire 1 at this moment. I hadn’t subscribed because I never used youtube logged in, but I have done it now just for you. I feel I have to leave you this heartfelt message as you have been a huge inspiration to me in my journey ever since I quit my job over 2 years ago. I have so much respect for you as a person on so many levels. I can see myself in your position in 10 years time, I’m 29 at the moment. Your content is by farrrr the best on the internet. You cover so many different topics and in such great depth. Honestly I owe you so much as I am sure everybody who watches your videos feels the same way. Please keep on doing these great videos and remember my name in a few years when I’ve smashed it I will pay you back in whatever way I can. Ps. You and Tim Ferriss are my guys. Very different to each other, but both amazing. You guys change the world to a better place and provide hope to us who did not finish high school with good grades, didn’t go sixth form, didn’t graduate from university yet we are the ones running businesses and being our own bosses. I’ve been meaning to leave you this message for a very long time, but sometimes you have to wait for the right time and now is the right time. Just know I was there way before you had your hundreds of thousands of followers and I am still here today. I’m gonna watch your video now before I go to bed. Nayden Delchev born and raised in Bulgaria, moved to London at the age of 11 with 0 English in my vocabulary. In the next few years I will build my empire and I will definitely start to make videos like you and I will be sure to mention you in my videos to give you props as I have the utmost respect for you. Anyway I’m not sure where this came from... well it came from the heart, but it’s unlike me anyway you know how much I appreciate your work and you deserve the message. Just don’t expect it on your every video ;) Hope you get to read my message and get all the positive vibrations I am sending you and your team and if you do, remember the name ;) P.s. I really wanted to attend the vault, but with the current situation in hiring and the business being so busy I will have to miss it and I will make sure to attend your next one.

You don't necessarily need great people. All you need is to develop great systems so you can build up any person for any position in your business. Great systems = great people. This is how you grow an unstoppable organization! :)
@titlespree

@@EcSpIa I agree! People are rarely born great, but those who work on themselves become great. And by shining the light on other people they can make them great as well. Be it through systems or by lifestyle! But you still don't want some people in your system because no matter how you train them they are simply not made for it!

Pat, how would you fire an EA who spent 6 months with you, you just invested 6 months of your life in onboarding him and "opening up" to him? He knows EVERYTHING about you! And that 1 time "close lips" situation comes up... You fire him - 6 months are wasted and now you get a very well prepared enemy who is angered with you after you fired him. What you say about this situation?
