Most of the movies in the list have never made a frequent run on satellite. Like you will never see Earth 1947, Rann, Guzaarish on television that much. Sadly, thats why a common-set of audience have no clue about these masterpieces. Good List TRP! :)

These films dont feature in the television coz people are not very fond of such films...indian audiance watch films to be entertained after a day of exhaution.... They want raunchy item numbers, stereotypes being praised and the orthodox style of good vs evil.... Films portraying reality is not something that will appeal to indian mass....

It did not include the classic trait of bhansali's film's i.e. controversy. Films like ramaleela, padmavat or bajirao mastani were substandard films but they ran because it generated controversies.

Sarabjeet is one of the most underrated movies out there. It still pulls deep down in my heart strings knowing that the unfortunate tale was based on a true Story. I wish there were masses who could've appreciated the work of the film makers and its ace actors, Randeep Hooda, Aishwarya Rai, Richa chadda.

I agree. I've watched this film 3 times with English subtitles, which I need. It made me angry, it made me happy and it made me cry, all of these emotions at times mixed up. I will watch it again. I also felt very emotional during the legend of Bharat Singh.

I love Do Dooni Chaar!! I watch it almost every time it is shown on tv! Earth 1947 and Liar's Dice were beyond spectacular! Khosla ka Ghosla is one of the best satirical comedies ever! Guzaarish was perhaps Hrittick Roshan's best performance yet!

Honestly i did not enjoy that movie... Ib felt bit was lacking in many ways, and towards the second half it became barely watchable for me. It had flaws in storytelling but also things like costume design... Despite being set in the 90s all characters were dressed like the present day.

Guzarish was visually stunning and had great performances by the actors. I truly enjoyed watching it. 1947 Earth is one of my favorite of Amir Khan’s movies. I remember going to watch it in theatre and my friends are were the only women in the audience 🙄I can understand that not everyone wants to watch a deeply moving and thought provoking story every time they go to the theater. But I wish everyone would give these movies a chance. Thank you Jammie pants for highlighting these movies. I would like to watch the ones I never got a chance to see when it was released.

I watched Earth and one of the scenes made me think for an entire week, I got goosebumps while watching the movie. Since then I have watched the entire Trilogy - earth, fire and water. Water is banned in India unfortunately. Fire was way ahead of its time... such movies never sit well with the masses because it questions their core beliefs!

Jhootha Hi Sahi should've made the list. The movie is so underrated. It released back in 2010. But it dealt with sensitive topics like suicide, mental health so beautifully. Another thing I loved about this movie was the way they portrayed homosexuals. They were shown as normal people which Bollywood hardly does. This movie was definitely way ahead of it's time.
