Heeeey nice vid and a spectacular bike which I have aswell VTR 2001 just got it used, sind you know the ins and outs Im facing a lack of acceleration on this bike and I put a new set of gear rings but is still more or less the same , have you faced this issue before, or is there anything I need to change Im here in Dubai and over here am probably the only one with his bike here, keep up these vidz Im checking them all one by one
@MotorPsychJapan
8 жыл бұрын
Congrats on getting the bike. Lack of acceleration... hmm well I found that after changing my muffler, I had better acceleration and top speed. Aside from that, make sure that the spark plugs are in good condition, the air filter also should be checked. By gear rings, do you mean sprockets? I've done a few videos on how to change both front and rear sprockets. If you want a faster start, then you could drop go from the stock 14 tooth sprocket to 13 on the front, or do the reverse on the rear.

Good summary, and a bonus +1 for not needing that shaken (車検)! My bike is a 400cc (CB400SF!) , so every two years I need to get it checked, and though not wildly expensive, it is another cost of riding, but as you say, if you take it to a shop/garage they can advise you on any work which needs doing. I could save some money and take it to the centre and do it myself I suppose. Ride on, sir!

It is a very fun bike. I'm starting to feel a little underpowered, but even that can be fun as I try to wring out every bit of HP as I can. In 18 months, I've put on over 22,000 km on the odometer commuting and touring, so the good mileage helps. I'd love to have a second bike, maybe even a litre bike (or more) for the weekends though.

Yeah, you can't beat the mileage that off-road bikes get with those thinner tires, and lighter bodies. When I was comparing all the 250cc for mileage, the best were the off road bikes. Is the CRF a fuel injection? the VTR250 with fuel injection get better mileage. But 40 km to the later is awesome.

Hi there! The VTR250 is a great bike. I've seen a few videos of them in Russia, but I know it's not as common. Riding 2 up on the VTR250 can be done, but it's not the most comfortable bike for a passenger and it's not such a powerful bike. So you can do it for short trips, but I wouldn't recommend it for long trips. Then again, people don't recommend riding around the world on a 50cc Honda Supercub, but people do it and they find a way. Try it for yourself, and see if it works for you. I take my boys on the back of my bike from time to time, and sometimes my wife gets a ride too.

It does well at 100km. I've kept it at a steady 120km for an hour plus on the highway without any problem. It's a bit tiring though without a wind screen. Accelerating or overtaking cars at 100km on up takes a little more road. Up to 100km it's very torquey, but beyond that it takes a little more time.

What brand is the windscreen and is it any good?
@MotorPsychJapan
8 жыл бұрын
The windscreen is a Daytona Blast Barrier X. currently it's tilted down all the way to offer minimum shelter from the wind while keeping it streamlined looking. In the winter I tilt it up more and it blocks more wind. In this lower position I can tuck in under it on the highway, with it tilted up, it blocks most of the wind to my torso so that the wind hits the top of my chest and shoulders. I added the blue reflective strips of tape :)

It depends on how fast you want to go on the highway. It can reach 140-150 km/h depending on how much weight is on the bike/rider, and if you've changed the muffler or not. But it'll be slower on the overtaking at those speeds.
