I have two things I wish I would started earlier, in my 20s, that arent on your list. I am 36 now. 1) mist my face with water before applying hyaluronic acid. It really helps keeps my skin plump and moisturized, as if it is drawing the h2o in literally. And 2) apply my eye creams with my chin down while looking up. This method allows me to get into my fine lines and crows feet more efficiently. I do this with my concealer as well, and it helps reduce creasing some what.

I am 78...always cleansed and moisturized, but was a sun-worshiper until they really started to talk about sun/skin cancer...right after we had a pool built! I've been lucky with just one squamous cell on my chest, however, I'm left with MANY sun spots everywhere the sun hit. I am a retired nurse and should have known better. It was not until I retired and started watching skincare vids, that I even knew what an "active" was, or tretonoin, that I got serious about trying to treat my skin! That must have been about 3 years ago. I am now working on the spots on my face and will slowly work my way down! Too little, too late, I'm afraid. 😞

Everyone told me I had oily skin and that I shouldn't use creams on my face, I believed this for years! It's not until the last two years I've actually learned and realised that moisturisers actually help with my acne. You can have acne AND dry skin, I never knew this. I saw skincare tips on TikTok and KZitem and my skin has never been better! I use vitamin C, retinoids, hyaluronic acid and sunscreen. My skin looks amazing, the acne is almost completely gone! @@Anne_Onymous Hey! I know I’m quite late but I have oily skin too and always been told how important it is to use moisturaser. To be honest I tried a lot of them before discovering that if you have oily skin you can use just a lotion which gives you the hidratation you need without making you oily. Also in the morning you can just use a hidrataying sunscreen for oily skin instead of using the lotion and then the sunscreen. (I’m still looking for a good sunscreen. But I have a lotion that it makes my skin look beautiful it is the “Aloe propolis soothing gel” from Benton if you’re interested)

Not only will it prevent the acne, its had a huge issue. But it's also gonna help Comvat fertility issues caused by PCOS. It's just better if your hormones are working properly. Also cut down on sugar and watch your insulin resistance. Tretinoin, while amazing can cause birth defects which no one mentions. So definitely don't use if trying to have a baby ever.

There are so many gems in this video! Honestly, Susan, your videos have changed my skin for the better. The moment I paid closer attention to what my skin goals were versus trying to solve everything - the more consistent I got and the sooner I saw results. 1. I decided to focus on acne and getting that under control. 2. I focus on hydration and moisturization. 3. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! I never knew how much it would help with my hyperpigmentation and aid as I use chemical exfoliants and retinol cream at night! I found your videos when I was 23 and I'm about to be 25. I love watching your videos and getting inspiration - especially from your Dermatologist Reacts videos

I wish I have gone to the dermatologist years ago. Because of my passion for skincare I was trying retinol by my own, and along with that many products because I am the person that buy something if I believe in that blogger content, but, even after watching many dermatologist and serious KZitem channels I was still trying everything by my own, did this also with Korean skincare, well, then I decided to go to the dermatologist, she really reduced my routine, I basically had to drop 4 other creams, and after struggling for years with retinol (really struggling because it made my skin to look like a real teenager) she made a very simple routine, washer, moisturizer and sunscreen and differin. Thats all, no niacinamide, no other hyaluronic, no extra serums, just the simple (I liked Avene so bought everything from Avene), and my skin after 3 months of consistency does not even require foundation or bb cream tô be beautiful, I was choked that didn't have to apply the foundation, the glow was much better without, just applied a blush mascara and that's all (and my foundation is a good one, the Giorgio Armani one). Please don't do like me, go first to the dermatologist instead of trying many products, now I save much more money and I am being able to invest this money in treatments, much better to do that. Amazing video, I could not agree more in all topics :)

It’s like when a mother says “I’m so tired” and she’s told “oh no you should be celebrating every moment it’s such a blessing!!!” I want to say “oh wow, my face is slowing drooping” without hearing “but be blessed you are alive and healthy!” I am blessed to be alive and healthy but that doesn’t meaning changes in my appearance don’t freak me out!!!

Now (10yrs) later I can easily get a subscription online…. No questions asked. Really just the first week of using, my skin felt softer and smoother. Unfortunately starting sooner is not always an option. If we only knew then what we know now.

"Stop using makeup wipes," for sure. I never even washed my face much till recently. When I was a teen, I would usually wash my face in the shower -- and only in the shower (and I've NEVER showered more than a few times a week). I really wish I had learned about the acne reasons for retinoids. But, the number one for me is SUNSCREEN. I wore it only occasionally when younger. I've had multiple second-degree sunburns, as well as a few third-degree sunburns (including one that required a skin graft). Ugh. The long-term damage I've caused is maddening to me. WHY?! Now, I'm religious about wearing sunscreen. In the past 3 years, I have not let the sun touch my skin without me having sunscreen on. I'm trying to make up for the other 94% of my life when I failed miserably. Yes, I'd love for you to chat/rant while getting ready (either for the day or for bedtime).

When I was a teen and then in my 20s I used spf, but not so obsessively as now 😂 I was lucky that I had regular facials since yearly teenage years and was on prescribed tretinoin. That was probably the only advantage of having very hard acne 😂

It's quite hard finding the right esthetician in London, not to mention the prices 😔 I have been using a silk pillowcase for over 4 years, I don't know if it's been helpful as I do have fine lines around my eyes, but I also have very expressive face, so I guess it's unavoidable 😕 I have learnt a lot from this channel back in 2019-2020 and other KZitem channels and my skin is quite happy at the moment, although there are bits that could be improved. Im a singer and there a certain things we do to help us deal with vocal fatigue. -throat coat tea (usually with some honey) - humidifier - personal humidifier (mypuremist is a great brand and has cordless options for traveling). -some morning warmups to wake up your voice (this is also good for people who speak a lot, not just for singers). - and of course resting and hydrating I also avoid dairy because it can cause congestion and acidic food can also irritate the throat. I hope you feel better soon ❤

Do you have a video on different facials that you recommend for your 30s? And/or lasers, etc?

I’m 24 and started to use 0.025% tretinoin this year. To be honest I already got great results after 2 months. 4 years ago I stopped sunbathing completely and also wear sunscreen religiously since 2021. Maybe I can't live a stress-free and healthy life, but at least I try to minimize the damage with proper skincare.

i’m 20 and have been dealing with acne since my early teens. I was also diagnosed with PCOS (hormonal disorder) and one of my sympmtos is acne. SO my tip would be to seek help from a professional, especially when everything doesn’t work even when you’ve followed instructions to the T. ik im only 20 so i don’t have as much experience as others. still, i wanted to mention this because hormonal acne is such a pain to deal w! i’ve tried so many things, i’ve seen many derms/doctors, and sometimes things work for months or even a year but then i get bad acne again. i still haven’t had a 100% clear face since probably middle school. i’m going to contact my OBGYN to discuss more options soon tho. wishing everyone who watches this video gets pimple-free skin 💗

I wish I had started using moisturizer earlier...like at 12/13 or 14 if not sooner. And even though I grew up in Florida I really didn't hear much about sunscreen being important for everyone including people of color. So if I could have started double cleaning, wearing a moisturizer, a retinol and sunscreen as a pre-teen and in my early teenage years that would have been great. I think we should normalize teaching teenagers and children the importance of a skincare routine. But the good thing is that I've learned these things now.

I loved this video! I'm so thankful that I started with being consistent in a skincare routine since I was a teen in the 90s (clinique skincare haha) AND sunscreen!! A few bad burns in my life taught me how important sunscreen was, especially on my face. In my 30s I got more serious with acids. I'm in my late 40s and I while my hair is grey I have few wrinkles (a bit on my forehead and a little around my lip). I'm just now looking at peels to help lessen them.

Tretonoin was great for my closed comedones, but left me with so much PIH from bringing up small cysts. I only use it on my chin because I’m afraid to mess with a good thing (my other skin is pretty clear) since I’m so dry and now acne prone I guesss :) but I love Hydrafacials!

I had no idea when to add vitamin c to my skincare routine it was just very confusing with all the info online but now I’m going to start using it before my SPF everyday! Already a big lover of spf but this is such an incredible tip!

I just wish I had started or been educated about how important a skincare routine was when I was a girl. I know I wouldn’t have taken it seriously but perhaps a foundation would have given me something to reference when I got older. Also I’m in my 40s, love my skin care routine but I’m still afraid of retinoids! 😝 Where do I start?

Thankyou so much for all your skin care education! I'm only 24 and have excema and very dry skin, even noticing ageing already. Working as a nurse through covid with full ppe really damaged my skin even more so I started looking into skin care, that's when I found you! There is no way I could do any cleanse other than a double cleanse. Love the suncream promotion with vitamin c, and I have just started using retinol, I am starting with a low strength and working up slowly. I get so many compliments on my skin and has given me so much confidence! Thankyou xxx

I’ve always known I would age. I started using less strong retinol with nicinamide because it helps with redness. I’m turning 20 this year and for sure will be looking for a better one and using cream with it. I use the double cleanse and I use sunscreen. I’ve started early but consistency will help

I was a lifeguard for 7 years, I am 40 now, and I your mentality on sun burns was the same as mine! YIKES! Same with melasma too, it just got worse with each child (four kids). What lasers and facials do you recommend for brown skin? I am a light olive (Costa Rican). I wish I would have done sunscreen sooner!

I wish I had known about skin care in my early teens. Wouldn’t have all these acne scars I have now. The first time I used skin care treatment was at 18, had such bad acne due to prednisone my doctor sent me to a dermatologist and they put me on Retin-A and benzoyl peroxide wash cleared me up right away. But then I stopped cause i couldn’t afford it. And I started using drug store acne treatment and the popular Proactive. But I learned about true skin care as in what i needed for my skin in my late 30’s from youtube 🤦🏻♀️.
