When I come to silver city, I count my time in N.M.. Worst places I've ever been. N.M , AZ , ,NV . What's the pros of N.M? Food. Cons? the People. New Yorkers are more positive and kinder then New Mexicans. Needless to say; I dread my visits. The moment I see that Welcome to New Mexico land of enchantment sign. My mood gets😡 worse and worse. It returns much better when I see , you are now leaving N.M.😁

There are five things worse than driving in the Burquay during Balloon Fiesta: driving in Boston, New York, SF, LA,, and The OC. I've lived and/or driven through all of them. I speak from experience. I don't do the green chili. I take mine red. 😄

I enjoy these lists a lot. But let me tell ya, here in the Portland Metro of Oregon, practically a single snowflake gets spotted falling, and suddenly everyone is the worst driver ever, and it's just too much to people. By the time we get a smattering, just a dusting, it can literally shut down the entire of the metro area here, people are that incredibly incompetent when it arrives, the rarity it does haha.

TheCriminalViolin ..... oh my God you're totally right. I worked at garbanzos on Hawthorne Street and was wearing some shoes with absolutely no Treads, grabbed the back of a car and skated on the snow all the way up to Coffee people about a block up. This was possible only because the person driving the car was only going about 3 miles per hour. Because yeah they don't drive for shit up there when it snows. one of my most enchanting memories.

It's a known phenomena, that where you live you normally don't go to the places that your area is known for..I am pretty sure that it has something to do with knowing it's there and taking for granted that you'll go someday... but seriously, go to the Balloon Fiesta at least once!! Chances are you'll go many more times after the first!! It's simply fantastic!

TheCriminalViolin ... I lived in Portland Oregon for a few years, it was fantastic although very rainy a good deal of the time....if I was going to recommend a place to hang out, I would say go to Cougar Hot Springs! Just don't eat a fist full of mushrooms, get kicked out by a park after Dark, and then drive an unfamiliar car through Construction for a few hours with no dashboard lights. I would definitely not recommend that. But if you do this anyways, really don't stop at a waffle house and look in the mirror. Really don't.

green chili, goatheads, and snow days are so true me and my family went to Oklahoma and my mom wanted green chilies on her sandwich at subway i woman making the sandwiches looked so confused my grandma who was ordering the sandwiches had to explain to the woman that we are from New Mexico so we are so used to there being green chilies. But two i think they should have sayed were when something happens here that is one the news it is usually because of drugs, jail breaks, and major crime and the fact that we have some weird weath not like it is freezing and snowing for a month or something our weath is like one minute/day its as sunny as can be then it is windy and then it is snowing and/or raining and then right back to sushine and that will happen either all in one day or over the course of 3-4 days as my math teacher said only in New Mexico will the sun be shining but it will be sprinkling.
