Jefe : I have put many beautiful pinatas in the storeroom, each of them filled with little suprises. El Guapo : Many pinatas? Jefe : Oh yes, many! El Guapo : Would you say I have a plethora of pinatas? Jefe : A what? El Guapo : A *plethora*. Jefe : Oh yes, you have a plethora. El Guapo : Jefe, what is a plethora? Jefe : Why, El Guapo? El Guapo : Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora. Jefe : Forgive me, El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?

I would love to see a sequel to this with the original actors coaching newer actors that are doing a film 'based on the true events'. As it has been almost 40 years since, you could tick by 30-40 years in their universe setting it either pre or early WWII and toss in some sort of spy element as the Germans try to get Mexico to join the war against the US, giving the new and old Amigos a chance to be unintentional heroes once again.

I've always thought this was one of the best comedies of all time and scratch my head when it doesn't appear on the usual lists... and not just for the 80s. It also has a certain sweetness to it, for example the campfire song. Yes, it's a little silly, but in the spirit of Roy Roger et al, they break the third wall and sing to you, the viewer. As for modern (non) sensibilities, screw them. One can even argue "The Three Amigos" is way ahead of modern well-doers in satirizing Hollywood.

I don't even bother putting a ear bud in my right ear. And yeah, you either get used to it or go nuts. Bruce Willis has it from Die Hard and William Shatner got from Star Trek TOS. Shatner said he considered suicide because of it. Anyway....I love this movie. It was on cable a lot and it was just so rewarchable. " Would you like to kiss me on the veranda?" "I would rather kiss you on the lips." 😂 And I sometimes make fun of my friends "little sissy gun". It's weird to think what a version with Belushi and Ackroid (sp?) would have been like.
