Just had a brief look over the comments and I would say about 90% of them are people informing me that Reel Big Fish's style of music is called SKA. Some people seemed to be shocked/ offended I did not know this. Well I'm sorry to say but SKA was never a thing in Australia, well at least in not my part of Australia, I've never heard anyone, ever, even mention the word SKA. If you've come to the comment section to inform me the style of Reel Big Fish is called SKA, I promise you, I get it already, I've just been informed about a 1000 times, I promise I won't be forgetting anytime soon, and fully acknowledge that the Reel Big Fish style of music is SKA. SKA, SKA, SKA, with an extra side serving of even more SKA! See I am now up to date with SKA, I guess you can call me SKAface! 😊

I remember when I was in high school in the early 2000’s and I first watched this movie with best friend. We immediately went out back to our basketball hoop and drew up lines and started playing Baseketball ourselves. We played regularly for the remaining years of high school. So I have very fond memories of both this movie and the game itself. Apparently there is a company that still makes a Baseketball replica, so I’m really tempted to get that and teach the game to my kids.

One of the most criminally underrated 90's comedies. Makes a great double feature with either Orgasmo, or Team America: World Police. You don't even have to like South Park to like this movie. South Park came in like a category 9 earthquake as soon as it started, and Jenny McCarthy and Yasmine Bleeth were 2 of the biggest sexy celebs at this time. The Zucker brothers (and parody films in general) still had some clout at this point in time. How it bombed in theaters is beyond me. Then again, another comedy classic bombed that year and went on to become a cult favorite: The Big Lebowski. I gues no one felt like going to the movies that year, or they were seeing "Rush Hour" 17 times lol.

One of the funniest movies ever. Fun fact, in high-school I tried to make the BASEketball club for an after school program. Even got the old gym teacher to agree to chaperone.

The music style is Ska. If you like that version of Take On Me, you should check out other Ska bands like MU330, Madness, Mephiskapheles or even The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. You might like it! Love your videos, btw! Thank you for content!

I get some joy out of this movie myself, pleasantly surprised to see you like it also! I'd be curious to see a list of movies you DON'T like. You usually always find something to enjoy about a film regardless of popular opinion or critical perceptions of it so I'd love to see a list of "10 Movies you wouldn't think Minty doesn't like" (Or something like that).

I will say, I loved this movie greatly. It's right there next to Blazing Saddles, Dodgeball, and Tropic Thunder. It was dumb, but it was hilarious because of it. It's a movie that can make me bust out laughing. And sweet mother of Cthulu did I love the music. Especially from Reel Big Fish and Nerfherder. The cast was made of heavy hitters and man did it show. BASEketball was definitely an underdog and a very underappreciated movie. And now I want to see an actor's cut of the movie.

Any version of take on me is amazing including the black & white version by The Blanks. But I still watch Reel Big Fish's version but the video is just them in the back of the stadium, I never knew they had clips of or that it was for BASE-KET-Ball

This movie had one of my favorite lines! I still randomly quote it when someones busting my balls "Goddammit! I swear if you guys rip on me 13 or 14 more times... I'm outta here!"

one of my favorite movies. The humer and background gags that make you watch it more and more so you don't miss anything. Dale Earndthart making a cameo as the taxi driver near the end and him making road kill on the way to the stadium. I was at a wedding last year and it had a live band. They were playing reel big fish songs and "I yelled out I hear your sister is going out with squeeks". The bass player nearly lost it.

"90s Jazz, Grunge, Punk." The word you are looking for is Ska Punk. Ska Punk music was big during the 90s and the Soundtrack for Basketball includes the Take on Me Cover and a original song called "Beer" which is very catchy.
