@@letsgetdangerous1925 the terminator battle across time was a true successor to the Ghostbusters show. It was a 3D movie with a very intricate storyline about how you're touring cyberdine and the Connors break in and stuff. The crazy part is that a few years after T2 James Cameron got the band back together to make the short 3D film seen in the ride, it deserves it's own video on here for real.

I went to Universal only a handful of times as a kid and my favorite movie was Jaws. So when I heard they had a ride I was so excited. I had a huge love/hate relationship with the ride. I loved it because it was a lot of fun and so immersive , I’ve never experienced such immersion on a ride ever! But I hated it cause my dad asked where the shark goes next to the boat the most and sat me on the edge, making me scared to ride it ever again. It closed before I had the chance to conquer it but I heard they’re bringing it back for Epic Universe!

Spielberg is pretty into the rides designed from his films. Universal actually removed and threw out the OG Orca that was originally left for the Jaws ride in Hollywood. He is still pissed off about them doing that. He was very involved in making Jurassic Park: The Ride as well. That was the best ride in Universal Studios until the new Jurassic Park crap came and they changed the entire look of the ride.
@AJ17_

He was also heavily involved with the design of the ET ride and there's some kind of contract or stipulation that the ride has to remain at the Orlando park at least until he dies (it was replaced by The Mummy in Hollywood and Space Fantasy: The Ride in Japan). There was plans to build a Universal park in South Korea & the ride was to be included with that park, but the park plans got scrapped (and there's no ET ride at the Universal parks in Singapore & Beijing).

My fiancé was creative supervisor of the look-a-likes and creative show writer for Universal when the park opened. He wrote a lot of the shows that opened the park and had a hand in what eventually became Halloween Horror Nights. He said at one point Quint was supposed to play a part in the queue line narration. My fiancé is also an actor (was the original Dreamfinder at Epcot) and he had recorded a queue spiel recreating Robert Shaw’s voice that he thinks was supposed to be used when the ride reopened after the original shutdown and reworking, but was never used.

Literally two weeks later it was confirmed in an article that Jaws would be closing and getting replaced by diagon Alley. The Jaws ride was one of the most fun experiences. I was a 15 year old male and about 250 lbs in 2000. The jaws ride was the last thing I went on. Everything started out slow and jaws attacked 2 or 3 times. I saw the end of the ride and relaxed, I was sitting on the back left of the boat all the way at the edge. All of a sudden one last attack happened right at me, flight not fight happened and I jumped over everyone in my row and got to the middle of the boat (I still don’t know how I got there as I jumped over about four people) apparently I made everyone day, as many people came up to me to tell how funny that was.

Back in the 1970s there were only a few small mechanical effects built to make the tram ride fun. In 1980 they created a short-lived but very cool sit-down show called “Dracula’s Castle” which featured mechanical monster effects as well as actors in costume playing classic Universal monsters. 😉

I vaguely remember being apart of this when I was a kid, but I only was apart of the Jaws Ride once in my entire life. I don’t remember where this happened at, what year it was, how old I was or what the full experience was like, but since it was closed down in 2012, I know that logically, I would have a child while it was still open. Even if I can’t remember everything, I do remember that it was an enjoyable experience for a younger, happier, more blissfully ignorant and more emotional immature version of myself, so I can say that if the mess I was back then could enjoy that ride, most would have as well.

I remember riding the ride with the exploding shark ending and with the shark electrocution ending. I loved it!

If you ever feel stupid, just know that there were people that actually believed that real exploded shark remains were used in an amusement park ride. 💀💀

Well, your quip, "That's some bad hat Harry," was funny anyway. 😄
