I checked my Daytona bracelet and damn if you are correct, the Rolex logo is asymmetrical, amazing, I didn't know that. Thanks.

Just to educate everyone out there. Rolex does not make the 904L stainless they use on there steel models. They buy 904L stainless from a ISO stainless maker. They have never claimed that they make there own stainless, this is a myth. Anyone can special order 904L stainless from a steel supplier, it has been used in the pharmaceutical industry for years because of its superior abilities to withstand pitting. Some very old Oyster cases can be seen to be pitted when they were using 306 or 316. They do make their own precious metals. This is no big deal. Any jewelry maker that is prestigious melts there own gold, and platinum. There are a few good reasons for this. First is to ensure the quality of the karat weight. Second is to ensure the quality of the color. No big jewelry company can rely on a third party company for this. The recipe for 18K yellow, pink, white is well know. Rolex tweaks the mix in the recipe a bit and calls it there own, like everose, which is there own version of pink gold. And they mix 904L with platinum. They buy the gold, silver, copper, 904L, platinum and so on and they melt it down to there needs. Also the bracelets are 100% made by robots. Rolex has released and I have seen the video of this. All the pieces of the Jubilee are made, cut and assembled by machine which is very amazing to see. And the Oyster cases are polished by a robot arm that apply the case to many different grit wheels, the process is very cool to see. Also Rolex workers are on a quota system, when they have done there required number of tasks for the day they simply go home. The quota are set well in advance. Rolex production numbers are set in stone a year in advance. Also the scrambled serial numbers are the result of Rolex producing finished watches in batches. This is to improve efficiency by reducing costly changeovers in the machinery and processes. So they produce a big batch of say Submariners and then they store them for as long as two years until there internal inventory get low and then they return to making a bunch more. That's why you cant tell by the serial number what year they were made (as opposed to years ago) in because Rolex doesn't want you to know it was made as long as two years ago.

I knew the Foundry - it's the only fact that has ever made me desire a Rolex Gold watch. It also enables their Red Gold to be a 'true gold' mixed 100% through the alloy rather than just yellow gold with a coating. Can't wait to look you up next time I'm in that part of the world - DC (Australia)

And Rolex never made a quartz movement, they bought a quartz movement from a supplier ;)

Timber land true and false at the same time. The Beta21 they used in their first quartz piece (il texano 5100) was indeed bought from the supplier (centre electronique horloger) but Rolex was a big part of that and financer. So in fact Rolex actually helped the rise and development of the quartz movements ;)

Stuur jij weleens een vintage Rolex naar Rolex voor een servicebeurt? Ik hoor wilde verhalen dat ze weleens wijzerplaten en handen vervangen waardoor het horloge verpest is.
