I actually have an amusing waldo story. I went to this anime con with a couple of friends a few years ago and one of the friends got separated from the rest of us. so we went up to the second floor, which basically was a balcony that looked out across the main floor of the convention center, to see if we could find her...and then we saw him, waldo, standing in a group of other cosplayers. I still wish I'd gotten a picture.

But the one that challenged me more than anything (not sure exactly which Waldo book it's from) the two pager is a dog style spa, I think, and you have to find the REAL Woof among hundreds of Woof look-alikes. The only difference, Woof has 5 stripes on his tail. OMG that particular puzzle took me quite a bit longer than usual. Altogether with finding the extras like the scroll, key, side characters, etc I must have been on that puzzle for at least 3 hours. Still loved the challenge, though. XD

Nice new video Minty - and even an 'Only Fools and Horses' clip to boot! (I wonder if you'll ever do a video on that series one day). I like that Wally started in my homegrown Blighty (the U.K.). It's interesting how the cultural humour of each country has adapted Wally/Waldo to their own tastes of humour. The original U.K. Wally is very British in his character - a bit clueless, easily lost... a bit of a 'wally'! British humour often likes this sort of character, the luckless or downtrodden hero that will usually come up trumps in the end. The Americanised version seems to have made him more on top of things, more clued up and even a bit of a smart alec, which again reflects more American tastes in mainstream comedy. I have to say, I prefer the original U.K. Wally, but then, I am kinda biased! :)

So that is why Wally got banned. As always it took one offended mother to complain. Ow no a cartoon nipple was shown to a kid in a book that is next to hard to find. I bet these same mothers are the type that push for breast feeding in public to never be considered wrong (Which it ain't) but kinda funny to see that one the exact same image is naturally displayed in public this way its a "Wonderful thing", yet in the other way its offensive and can do damage. Go figure.

@gutz1981
5 жыл бұрын
@@azadalamiq But its not nudity. Its a drawing of a woman its not an actual woman and those aren't actual breasts. And trust me, I remember when I was a kid, around 70% of those books at the library already had 10 times worse drawing of breasts and other body parts older kids drew in those books as a joke to tease for the next person. If you think the drawing of a nipple is going to warp a kid's mind or that is the most extreme thing they will see at that age, you have not been out in a while. Kids at that age do not see a cartoon nipple and suddenly go all "oo and gimme and that is what I want." Only adults think that is how kids think if they see that. A kid would see that for one second and move on. Its us as a society who make it a bigger deal than it is and the kids pick up on it then.
