I think the Chris Benoit tragedy was the darkest moment for WWE in 2007. Probably the darkest moment in wrestling history.

Yup in history period. But in your opinion, can you separate his in ring work with what he did in his final 3 days? I'll have you know! I was 12 and in my wrestling love prime. Raw and Smackdown were hyperfixations at that time, I had lost my grandfather in 2005mto lung cancer, then Eddie passed 2 months later and Chris 2 years later. Was an incredibly dark period, but absolutely some of the fondest wrestling memories I have. I also got the chance to meet and hug Umaga after a house show in Little Rock, Arkansas. At meet and greets he would still sneer and not break kayfabe, but would sign and hug kids mid sneer. Good times!!

For All The Bad With The Benoit Murders/ Steroid Trials,2007 has to be one of my absolute favorite years in WWE,granted it may be nostalgic goggles but I had taken a gigantic hiatus from wrestling,my father passed in February 2007 due to a drunk Driver,I was 12 and it was my cousin giving me a bunch of PS2 games(to make me feel better I guess) and two of those games were Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006 & 2007 it was those games that got me interested in wrestling again (which was when I was a 5 year old) and which lead to me watching The Smackdown After WM 23 then The Raw that next week and the rest is history,I was hooked. So 2007 WWE is so fun to me and nostalgic,Cena/Lashley at Great American Bash.MVP,Jeff Hardy & Mr.Kennedys & RKOs Rise,Edge cashing in money in the bank on Taker after this cage Match with Batista(also tTaker/Batista's LMS at Backlash,Cryme Tyme,Shawn Michaels & Chris Jericho & JBL's Epic Return's. UMAGA just being fucking insanely AWSOME, & Raws 30th anniversary. For me 2007 was,is and will always be one of my favorite years despite those glaring issues
