Clarckson PUNCHED a colleague. It's not a betrayal to fire him for that, any workplace would've done it.

Yes, I must agree that one was NOT a Betrayal by the BBC... What the video fails to address is teh BBC were looking for an excuse to Sack Clarkson for a very long time... They were "Desperate" to modernise Top Gear - Clarkson punching a producer was just the perfect storm! Or would have been if Top Gear remained popular!

There were better ways to punish Clarkson without the loss of millions of income in the process (read: thus killing off quite a number of jobs in the process). That's where the BBC made mistakes (well, to be honest, it started with not immediately addressing his earlier infractions), especially in the face of steady decreasing of license income.

@@dhenderson1810 Yes, and it's audience isn't even half of what it was, so the income of (re)broadcast and merchandising rights is mainly generated from old episodes. The BBC is a wonderful concept that has been undermined and largely destroyed by political agendas, corporate corruption, terribly low standards of conduct, nepotism and even collusion with some of the most despicable monsters in this nation. I believe it should be retained but reformed with an emphasis on high standards and honesty. At the moment it deserves little respect and those responsible should be publicly shamed and removed.

I'm sorry, but with Clarkson, they did everything right. He had been given a final warning prior to that incident and was duly put on suspension. I will say, though, Clarkson's antics made a poor president for Lineker being suspended since the former was famous for his numerous offenses and political opinions and literally had to punch someone in the face to be let go.

Michael Grade sacking Colin Baker, then later trying to destroy Dr Who. Ironic considering his uncle Lew Grade, really wanted something like Dr Who for ITV, so he commissioned Gerry Anderson to create many series for him. Michael Grade admitted he doesn't like science fiction. Clearly though the undercurrent still exists, hence Christopher Eccelstone's issues. I know some people don't like the link up with Disney, but seeing how they have kept the Star Wars franchise alive, so I'll take their involvement as a good thing.

It is mainly a commercial enterprise through BBC Studios, selling BBC-produced shows (financed by the fee) to anyone who will pay the royalty fees. This is FRAUD. The whole Saville thing makes your skin crawl, something that is far more insidious than just the BBC.......but whilst alive and having powerful friends in political circles he was untouchable for most of the time he was a serious power on TV. So in some ways the BBC had no choices, as the politicians hold their purse strings in the form of the licence fee; so anything that was not surpressed (and it is a well published fact he was reported by several people over many years that he was a seriously unpleasant/unsavoury individual, people who were then Blacklistes by the BBC), was bad for the BBC bank account. So in so many was who was as much at fault as the BBC....the public who kept electing Saville's Tory chums into power during the 1980/90s. I just feel sorry for all the people who's lives were ruined, by his political allies which allowed this him to having a free pass to locations where he could abuse the vunerable for his depraived ends.....just because he was best mates with Margaret Thatcher.

He also did that form a Personal Account - its like you are not allowed an Opinion! ... And this is something many do not understand - When someone is employed by a TV Station, be it the BBC, ITV etc... In News or as part of a Magazine Show (Think most Daytime TV programmes such as This Morning, Lorraine...) - Their role is as a "Presenter" Yes, a News Reader is a Presenter - They are Presenting the facts as given to them by the production team... So, Their actual opinions are NEVER heard! I only bring this up as there is a video from the Pandemic of Lorraine Kelly on her Morning show agreeing to everything a Climate Change Specialist is saying to her, but teh photos shown of "A Drop in pollution in the Himalayas" are Dubious!! If anyone finds teh video - LOOK AT TEH PICTURES VERY CAREFULLY... The Same two men in the EXACT SAME POSITION in the EAXCT SAME CLOTHES in BOTH PICTURES - Physically impossible when both pictures are supposed to be taken 6 months apart.... These men photoshopped the pictures to reinforce their ideas... Kelly was CRITICISED by some online for not calling it out - BUT SHE IS NOT ALLOWED TO EVEN IF SHE DOES SEE IT! SHE IS A PRESENTER... THATS IT! So, While I did not agree with Lineker's words... They were said on HIS PERSONAL TWITTER. That should be exempt _ Then again, as the HIGHEST PAID Man at the BBC... I guess he does have to stand for the corporations values and that means "not voicing your own personal opinions"
