I don't feel schools should give us everything on a silver platter. Schools accomplish their goal when they make us curious about the world around us and instill the joy of learning so we can be life-long learners.

I love to negotiate, learnt from my Mother. Very important for me as I deal with litigation, Costs, Financial settlements etc. Indeed it is a skill and these 10 tips are so helpful. "Aggressive listening" wow. Great stuff. I learnt something new here about the uneven offer of buying an item. I just say my "final offer is ..that's all I have " and I start trying to leave. I never thought of the uneven number. Parents are amazing.

Sir, I do value your advice and look forward to it but the Ireland property buying process is so disintergrated that any of such skills doesnt come in use. 1, You never get to see the seller as these large companies do the dealings so personal interactions cannot be judged. 2, Buyer doesnt deal with one particular realtor so there is no relationship building with the Realtor as you will see him during a viewing for 10 mins. 3. In Canada or India the buyer approaches a realtor or sales agent and they show you 10 houses and then the realtor can show you things of your need but here the buyer finds the property and sees a new realtor everytime 3, Seller always have offers and even if they dont and bcz a large companies employee is selling the property on behalf of the seller then for him it's just a deal for 1% and he wont understand the urgency to sell which might be just known to the actual seller and will not initiate a discussion until that asking price is achieved in most cases. 4, I have seen houses not sold for months but the realtor will not go the extra mile to get a meeting organized to make things work bcz he is just doing a job. 5, the demand seems to be real as I have never never got a revert back or follow up on a bid which I have placed. They just dont care and will not negotiate infact when you speak to them then you do get a feeling that his want to sell is far less then your need to buy.....this process looks so unreal and hopeless to me. May be in smaller places the personal interactions can work like you explained and buyers are less or less companies are involved and one can actually get a good deal but not in Dublin for sure.

@ Hamari Awaz...all you’ve said is literally my lived experience in bidding for properties in Dublin 😟 Houses are literally selling for 60k - 100k over asking price. On rare occasion, if you’re the only bidder offering asking price, the estate agent just lets you wait endlessly & avoids your calls. There is really nothing favouring the buyer unfortunately.
