I’ve worked hard to save about $800,000 for retirement, and now I’m ready to turn my savings into a paycheck. But how much can I afford to withdraw from savings and spend is what I don’t know. If I spend too much, I risk being left with a shortfall later in retirement. But if I spend too little, I may not enjoy the retirement I envisioned. What’s your advice on this please?

I'd highly recommend using the 4% rule, maybe you'd know just how much to spend after retirement

stay flexible - if the market performs poorly, you may not be comfortable increasing your spending at all, but if the market does well, you may be more inclined to spend more on some ''nice to haves''

Personally, I used the 4% rule as a guideline, didn't follow it precisely. However, for greater level of confidence around portfolio longevity and ability to meet my money goals, I've utilized a seasoned advisor for 5 years now, amassing nearly $1m ROI after 100s of thousands invested. I'm semi-retired today, and only work 7.5 hours weekly.

@@arlenehill4ril such an eye opener! never heard or used the 4% rule before. I spend what I want and when I want, however i'm interested in supplementing my streams of income by investing, mind if i look up your advisor please?

Karen Lynne Chess is the licensed advisor I use. Just google the name and you'd find basic info. To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finance, but so glad I did.

I've had an emergency fund most of my life. I'm retired now, and looking back I've never had an unexpected expense over $1500. If you buy quality and practice preventive maintenance on your cars, home and body, you should have very few unexpected expenses. The main reason to have an emergency fund, in my opinion, is to cover living expenses if you lose your income source.

I do agree you don’t often have a lot. But it is still handy to have one. I started keeping one from this channel and ramit. A view months ago my bank had an issue that they were processing deposited later. It resulted in me getting my salary a week later, but my rents and so was getting withdrawn.. also at the same time out if nowhere our tab water was not clean and I had to buy a lot of bottle water and normal food.. if I did not had that emergency fund I would not have been able to eat

6 months of cash can be divided into 6 parts. Then every month use one of those parts to open 6 month CD. This way you have your emergency fund growing instead of just sitting in your account.

or just put your emergency fund into an ETF/index fund ;)

Thank you for sharing. Financial education is crucial today to show incredible resilience and discipline in the volatile market, masterfully balancing strategy and insight for success. This dedication to continuous learning is inspiring...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.1BTC to a decent 15B TC in the space of a few weeks... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape..

When it comes to investing, we want our money to grow with the highest rates of return, and the lowest risk possible. While there are no shortcuts to getting rich, but there are smart ways to go about it.

The key to financial stability is having the right investment suggestions for a diverse portfolio. Many investment failures and losses happen when you invest without proper guidance.
