I grew up in Davenport, it's really a terrific place. If you like affordable, pretty, historic homes the city is absolutely littered with them. The high crime is limited to a very small section of town, outside of that area the crime is almost non-existent. Tons of golf-courses, parks, etc. Plenty of culture as well. If you can stand the winters it's a great place to live.

@misunderstoodcomedian947 I agree. I mean for your average Joe/Jolene, $200,000+ for a home is NOT AFFORDABLE. It's only affordable for folks who have an upper 5 figure-low to mid 6 figure income. Tulsa was a city I had thought about very briefly. About 6 years ago I was learning how to code and then I found out about some coding class that had a San Francisco campus but I talked to somebody from their Facebook page and they said that they have a Tulsa campus and that to study there I can get I think it was like $1,000 per month or something like that to do my studies there and that it would be something I could more easily do because the average rent in Tulsa at the time was like $500 a month or something. To be honest I might be getting the numbers wrong, it was 2018 but looking back at it maybe I should have actually tried that. For all I know maybe I could have succeeded well enough and just come back to where I'm from in Santa Rosa and maybe even run a software company but that might be a bit too ambitious
