Great advice ❤ Interestingly, i listened to a scientific consumer programme about efficiency of vacuums and dust, and "Which?" reports in testing that a combo of vacuuming with the window open (as the vac actually disturbs and blows dust around the room),using a bagged corded vacuum for high suction, and emptying your vacuum cleaner bag/canister OUTSIDE really helps cut down on dust and allergens.

Great info! Years ago when Dyson came out I jumped on it…I justified the high cost because I’d never buy another vacuum bag again. While the Dyson worked great, the dust mess it created when emptying and the residual odor drove me BACK to a bagged vac. I’ve now had my Miele bagged canister vac for over 16 years…same vac…no odors…no mess when removing the bags - which, hold quite a bit of debris. Never a bagless vac for me again!

Id say that if you can, its best to leave windows open as much as possible. The air inside your home isn't as healthy as the air outside. Indoor air pollutants are up to 8 times higher than outside air. Def worth the small cleanup compromise of a little dust coming in from the window. Let that healthier air flow in! Lol ..or y'all do whatever u want. But I keep my windows open nearly all the time

Love your recommendations. I used rent a house where the dust was mad crazy! I could dust, and the next day there would be fine particles on some surfaces. I realized (amongst most things) the HVC ducts needed to be cleaned. I asked the owner, he laughed and thought I was making it up. I did an experiment where I taped off the air vent in my little office. After two years I moved because the dust situation and overall maintenance of the house was terrible.

Man, I hate it when people who you need to act blow you off! I had a similar problem with an apartment. For one thing, it was hard to see, being on the first floor, and having covered parking right in front, and evergreens in the back. Every time I vacuumed, dust would get everywhere, but I couldn't see it happening. By the time I did a few things, I noticed the dust. Eventually I complained, because I didn't get where it was coming from. They finally told me that the previous renter had cats, and must have used baking soda on the carpet (old cat lady). After asking them to clean the carpet a couple times, they basically kicked me out. I started getting sick a lot here, and haven't been right since☹️

Foot pain can mean having to wear supportive shoes all the time. I have indoor shoes that do not go outside. I like door mats both inside and outside. Thanks for the tip to dust dry before cleaning. I did not realize that wiping with a damp or wet cloth does not save a step but requires more effort.

Wow, that's so crazy! When I was little, and my mom wanted us to help dust, she would give us a dampened cloth (not totally wet), so that's how I've always dusted. But it never seemed to get everything. Now I want to try it your way! 😄

Thanks for another great video. Outside dirt from wearing shoes doesn't just make more work, it wears the carpet out sooner. The dust particles have tiny sharp edges and our shoes grind them against the carpet fibers, wearing them out. (Info from Don Aslett, OG cleaning guru)

I've noticed that electronic furniture like, a stereo set up or tv stand, tends to attract dust quicker than anything else in the room. Are there any hacks to repel this dust or is it just tough toenails and needs to be dusted more frequently?

I think shoes entering the house is an american-only thing. Most of europe, whole asia, whole africa, it's no shoes inside house policy. That's like 7 billions out of 8 billions humans. Not sure about aussie-NZ region though.

You wash micro cloths by themselves only. Otherwise they attract lint from rest of textiles.

I almost always use the dusting attachment on my vacuum for all things dusting, especially since I have a lot of pets. I also vacuum nearly every surface of my house, from my pantry shelves, oven, fridge, window sills and baseboards.

How did you know that's what I was doing?!😂 Do you have any advice on how to clean sofas? You probably did this, so sorry uf I missed it. I finally figured out my cushions have zippers😁 Took a while before I had the guts to wash them. But the back cushions do not cone off. One sofa has a zipper to get the foam out, but the fabric is attached. The other one is corduroy, and nothing comes off. So, anyone's advice appreciated❤️✌️🥰👍

I agree with not wearing shoes in the house. I was brought up that way and I hate when my husband and my mother in law wear there shoes in the house knowing that I don't like it. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

I have comfy guest slippers that I give to all of my guests that insist on not taking their shoes off in my house. This way they don't have to be shoeless if they don't want to, and I don't have their outdoor shoes on my floor. Should work on live-in husband too, make sure his slippers are super-duper comfy or with something he likes, or funny - mine is a goofball so pair of slippers that look like cat paws worked like a charm!
