Loving the winter short videos. I have suffered from let's try this road many times , hauling my bike on my shoulder over muddy fields and fells. Fate took you away from Cracoe if you believe in that sort of thing.

Some great points there Terry, The beauty of cycling on your own, is that you have only yourself to blame and no one to question your decisions. Then again, if you do the Way of the Roses, it's just like this ride, where you go across fields on your best bike !

Great ride and video Daz. Youve been treating us so far this year with the regular videos. I know they take a heck of a long time to edit and produce so thanks for the entertainment. I dont watch regular TV as it doesnt come close to KZitemrs like you. Deffo deserve more views mate but I imagine the YT algorithm is a tricky one. Love Waddington - always brings back childhood memories from when my grandparents lived there on Twitter Lane.

Thank you kindly for the comments Cwil. The algorithm is like a gate. The KZitem bots open it for about 3 days then they close it if the data is not where it should be, rather than push it more... There are some channels out there, which to me don't offer anything of any real substance and are based on what you might call click bait , or the content and the quality of their videos is basically mediocre, yet they get pushed and promoted. I'm not jealous or envious as this is just part of the hobby and I work for a living, but Yes, KZitem needs to sort it's self out. Mini rant over. Let's hope the weather perks up soon for us to get out on the bikes 👍

@MrDazP1adv3ntures
8 ай бұрын
Hi peter, I have tried using a Sony mini IC Recorder ICD-UX560 which is pretty good in certain situations but not practical on the bike. The best option I find at the moment is to narrate "live" with the Gopro's mic before or after the flyby shot. It only takes a minute and then you can use the GoPro like a dictaphone to remind yourself of what you are aiming to achieve. You can then edit all the clips together on the time line in Adobe afterwards.

Brilliant stuff, and even stopping to film the impromptu hike-a-bike bits as well! Gotta say yours are some of the best filmed and inspiring cycling videos here in KZitem land, Daz. @MrDazP1adv3ntures

Thank you kindly OMC. It's one thing simply going for a bike ride but trying to tell the story is a completely different kettle of fish. The good thing about editing and using more and more tech to create a video, is that you are continually developing your skills and looking to tweak something for the better. (plus it passes the dark winter nights away) Parking in Whalley is good and free. It's 45 mins drive away and you can get to Blackpool , Lancaster, The Trough and the Dales very easily. I need to catch up on your videos and many others too. Not enough hours in the day....

Hi Daz, I am in the search for a bike more for.fitness and getting some longer miles in than I can on my hardtail MTB. I am thinking of a flat bar hybrid type bike initially and given some of the miles you cover on yours that seems like it would do the trick, or do you think I should commit the whole way for a drop bar bike? Keep up the good work, watched all the back catalogue pretty much and have an extensive list of cafes I now need to visit. Lol Thanks in advance for reply.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures

Hi Mark and thanks for the great question. I have always kept a flat bar/hybrid bike in my collection because of my Mountain bike roots. They are great to commute on and to zip in and out of traffic and to bunny hop onto pavements when necessary 🤔😉. The other factor which I like, is that they are not built for pure speed or performance so you can get a proper comfy ride out of them if you run 30mm+ tyres. The next area which I think is worth mentioning is that if you ride a hybrid through the winter months, October to March for example, and then get on a carbon drop handlebar road bike, you will find yourself riding much quicker and approaching corners at higher speeds, now that can't be a bad thing ! I think they are a nice way to transition between disciplines and to make decisions further on down the line if you get the bug. Here is a link to a bike that recently caught my eye, I hope it helps 👍 kzitem.info/news/bejne/k4OIy3qBiYaplI4si=1oWZY56JhyTrCW4l
