A wartime tug made in the USA, of which there are several in Finland. The ship has a great history, and you can find it online by searching for the ship's name Merikarhu. Handsome technology, hats off to the great restoration work.

1943 US ARMY ST-79, United States Army, Washington.
1946 No. 13, State of Finland, Ministry of Public Welfare, Helsinki (973 / OFJQ).
1950 F.W. Hollming Oy, Rauma. 1951 City of Hamina, Hamina (261).
1954 named MERIKARU.
1958 was removed from the ship register as undersized (less than 19 nrt).
30.8.1964 crashed in a storm off Hamina. Towed to shallow water where the ship sank. Raised, repaired, and put back into traffic on 30.12.
In 1990, it was handed over as a mobile museum ship to the management of Jorma "Patu" Patanen. Entered in the boat register (R-1943).
In 2007, maintenance was transferred to Tervasaaren Pukseeri ry.
In 2012, the new Merikarhu Perinyehdistys ry, Hamina, became the user and administrator.
