I picked up a 2019 Triumph Street Scrambler and after a bunch of mods and upgrades - I absolutely love it. It's a ridiculously capable machine, puts a smile on my face every time I give it a rip and I still do a double take on it every time I walk away from it!! But I'm still very much intrigued by the Ducati Desert Sled...

a scrambler is not an adventure bike nor is a dirt bike. its an underprepared, light and nimble street bike that can do a bit of off road. thats why I do not consider the triumph 1200 as a scrambler but more like a naked adventure bike don't get me wrong it is beautiful and very capable and I am considering buying it. the closest to a modern day scrambler is the ducati because its light, super nimble and not tall. scramblers from that era where never tall they were cafe racers with different handle bars, mudguards and tyres.

As much as these bikes definitely can be ridden _mildy_ off road, i think we can all agree that majority of Scramblers are styling exercises. However thats a good thing, as they still hold a unique look thats very nice and eye catching, and a throwback to oldschool days of off-road. Nice to see a Guzzi aha, i think a Stornello would have fit the bill better than the rough but i believe they were a limited run. Liking these videos, they get people talking 👍

No breakdowns apart from a blown mousse in his front tyre. No, that Triumph can perform unbelievably well off road, I have tested it and it is in a class of it's own and not a pose machine like the rest of them. Better suspension than most adventure bikes too, including the likes of KTM1090R which I have owned and used extensively off road.

I had a 1200 XE (sold it after 6000km) and a BMW Urban GS (sold it after 9000km). Both fun bikes, both have bad suspensions. Unfortunately a lot of manufacturers are quick to jump on the retro wagon when it comes to looks and design, but thats mostly what it is unfortunately. The front forks on the UGS are the same used on the BMW Racer...that says a lot right there. The XE is super harsh on rough pavement...

Great vid. Herald? Cabarello? Both look good, and are interesting inclusions. I love that Indian, but come on already with the price. They are not doing themselves any favours by making what is an attractive bike priced out of reach IMO. For my money it's the Triumph Scrambler with the 900cc motor because it's a great value, and I spend a lot more time on the road and street, so it really fits that bill. The CCM is by far the bike I'd most like to own, but it is too expensive for me. That bike is straight from heaven! Thanks for a fun and intelligent overview of what's available within a growing category of bikes. Well done. Cheers from the GWN. PS: Yes, Cob ah yair oh, please.

The Yamahas might be the most reliable. The SCR 950 V-twin is a good deal, for some extra weight and might only be available used now- like the Bolt but more for taller or heavier riders. The XSR 900 is a good price for adding more off-road or dirt road parts. The Tracer 900 and 900GT are more set up for long rides on pavement.
