A few years ago a friend of mines son was bullied his entire school career, every day as much as these people could and then hazed his first year of college in which he was jumped by multiple men and it left him incredibly beaten. This all led to him hanging himself two days later after the hazing. He felt like he was never going to be able to live his life without fear of being beaten or made fun of so he hanged himself. None of these bullies were punished at all due to them being "Athletes". Still to this day I wish I could've helped him understand he had people who loved him and that it will get better. People are moreso disgusting these days instead of nice and I hate it.

It was like that during prohibition. But then.. “The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.” John Ehrlichman

There needs to be a countrywide address of this topic/problem, maybe even a high school course to educate students before they go to college because too many get hurt. Young guys either die from alcohol poisoning or they hurt young girls in ways they'd never dream of if sober and in their right minds. Clearly all families associated with the situations get hurt. Can the Education Secretary help with a problem of this magnitude? University higher-ups seem to turn a blind eye while many students ruin their lives not knowing that 1 drink per hour up to so many a day is the max. Not funneling beer or banging out 20 plus shots. Can the First Lady, Jill Biden, make this an initiative? To help young women from being hurt and young men from ruining their lives? America needs change now!

The decision to join a fraternity is voluntary, all the pledges know they may have to eat filth, swim with alligators or god only knows, other challenges. It seems that everyone wants the privilege/rewards of belonging but no one wants to own the personal responsibility or accountability for their actions. Don't blame others for your choices.

I also find arresting people for hazing can be a bit tricky. All these people who were arrested could have been clueless of how the kid was doing since the kid could have possibly been consenting to all the alcohol that was given to him. If someone's gonna get arrested for hazing, I want proof that that person forced someone to drink without their consent.
