I FUCKING HATE AUTOTUE. It's ruined any kind of recorded or performed singing; it makes any kind of actual expertise or talent irrelevant. You listen to some of these singers today (lol I sound like my grandmother!) and you can't tell if they can sing at all, because autotune keeps them sounding exactly the same as eachother. There's no character or art; its just fake little pretend voices. And then you get to see a major performance like this (first time I've seen this, but I remember The Righteous Brothers fondly); holy shit! I've heard the record of that song a million times (literally) but his vocals in this live show are sublime. I'm stunned. Like several of my fellow WOMEN who reacted to this, I didn't realize he was a world-class hunk; haven't seen him perform on tv since I was a little kid. Wow, both of those guys were genetic masterpieces! A comment, too: there was a very persistent rumor, at the time of this song's release, that this singer was deeply in love with a female BLACK singer, and that, because of the sickening bigotry of the time (but hey, things are so much better now, right?) they were never able to be together. When I say "rumor", it was hot goss, common knowledge, and I, being very little, didn't understand any of it. I do, now.

Tell me that you have absolutely no idea what this song is about without telling me. Vietnam? Where do you get that idea from? Do you not have Google? Or are you so arrogant that you “know shit” even when you don’t. Vietnam war indeed. It’s from a 1955 film called “Unchained” about a prisoner who is waiting for the day he’s paroled. Nothing at all to do with war. Any war.

The lyrics mean so much more when you realize it was 1965 and the Vietnam War was in full swing. When he sings "Time goes by so slowly and time can do so much." You think he is sitting in a fox hole with gunfire all around, scared to death he is going to die. "Are you still mine?" and "I'll be coming home, wait for me." In the midst of gunfire and terror, he just wants to know she still loves him and will wait for him.

“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

To me, this is absolutely the most romantic version of this song of all time. No matter how many times I listen to it, it has never gotten old...and never will.

You are absolutely correct mark. Bobby was a blessed individual, that was given a beautiful voice. Any song that he sang he did so effortlessly. He has passed 20 years ago, but we are very fortunate to still be able to listen to his music. He is dearly missed.

As notas que ele atingia alternando graves e agudos até hoje são incomparáveis!

It’s a treat to see these beautiful women of color reacting to blue-eyed soul!

Real pure no effects music like this can’t help but bring a tear to your eyes. People today can’t compare to music back then, both black and white musicians had a God given talent that’s rarely seen today
