AGV and Arai for me. Personally I own an AGV Pista GP and the KYT NX-Race. KYT for the usual ride around town, and AGV during track days or just wanted to use something else for a change. I've been arguing myself to replace my KYT with the Arai RX-7V (Corsair X), but that would come in the future. AGV is very aerodynamically stable and not just some marketing BS, really excellent visibility, relatively quiet, and really feels plush and comfortable on your face. On the other hand the KYT feels cheaper, has thinner paddings, loud on the freeway speeds, but is super light (lighter by about 120g than my AGV), has great visibility, has speaker placements for comms (Pista/GP/GPR/GPRRdon't have this, but it's to be expected since it's track/race focused helmet), very cheap for a carbon lid (got mine for around 350USD), and has good ventilation (the Pista can get hot!). Additional note on Suomy and KYT > KYT bought Suomy and are like sister companies.

I've ridden with Arai's for 20 + years and appreciate their construction of using progressively denser layers of "foam" from head surface to shell. Not that I've actually tested it's effectiveness at protecting your head, but I like the idea. Years ago Arai was arguably the best at protection, but that may not be the case now that others have improved. This was a good intro into what's offered now, but it'd be nice to see measured impact and sound testing.

I've had my Arai Corsair X for a year now and I love it. I don't do track days, I ride a 2019 BMW R1250RT, so sport touring and some nice fast twisty's. The newer Corsair's have a new shield removal system which is MUCH easier than earlier models which were a PIA to remove. I live in Texas and the airflow is great for 100F plus temps in the summer. I do wear earplugs with this and all helmets. Fastest I've been at with this helmet was 120mph and it was totally stable. I'd highly recommend it. Ride safe all.

I’m like you and ride sport touring and thinking Arai brand Signet X. I’m mixed between a medium or large. I tried the medium and found it very snug and large felt very nice, but am wondering if the large will be too large if the materials compress too much and flop around on my head. My question is that did you find the materials compressed a lot to gain a little space in the forehead area, cheek area I’m not concerned about.

Great content. Love that you make content like this. Very hard for regular riders to obtain all helmets like this for comparison. Myself got small oval to narrow head and Shoe fits best then HJC RPHA11 fits very well with ample ventilation for riding even in the mediteranian during summer. All ventilation can be a problem for lower temps 10c in northern Europe. Go for a touring helmet then instead for colder climate.

I have an Arai Corsair X which I love as my everyday wear. When I want to change things up I have a Shark Spartan GT Carbon which is exactly as Troy said. Very snug getting on but once on feels amazing. Very little notice to wind noise at all. Can hear music and all comms on my Sena without any issue at all. Really like it, just wish the Spartan GT had some better visor options. Other than that, no complaints from me. I do also own a Ruroc Atlas 3.0 which the noise absolutely made it a turn-off for me. Great review i just ordered BellStar mips deluxe and can’t wait to have it, I have shoei rf-1200 and I can’t ignore the wind buffeting I get from it, even my Schuberth C4 pro (modular helmet) cuts through winds way better, not to mention it is very quite and has a decent airflow which makes it compete with the best helmets shown here, only drawback for me is that it has a fixed comm system which I hoped to remove and combine it with Cardo packTalk Bold with JBL head set which will make it even better for road riding, I would like to try Bell Star and see how well it cuts the wind since I am a naked bike rider and that feature is a plus for me.

The Pista RR is a great looking helmet and very stable. Anyone considering buying one please keep in mind that it’s very (VERY) loud… you can’t ride without earplugs (in my opinion)

Hey Troy, nice cap. But the message should've been Go, read a Motorcycle! As in your magazine. Thank you for the review.

u brought in the AGV Pista GP RR... u should have brought in the Xlite X-803 RS Ultra Carbon Golden Edition for the top of the line comparison.

I would like to see something like this but for "the real world" like you said, realistically not many will go to a track much if at all, how about noise on the highway, comfort at being in your head for a hour or more, is there cutouts for a bluetooth communicator; unfortunately many of the large motorcycle reviewers are like the car ones, everything is from a track and race prospective, when very few will actually be in that situation.

You are off quite a bit on the agv. One is carbon vs fiberglass is the major difference.

Different weather, different person, different perspectives and circumstances. Different motorbikes and different engines. At the end of the day, we all get what we love and there are always somethings that we compromise. Get Arai if you dont want to compromise with quality and protection. I myself have Corsair-X. Japanese always the best with quality. And thats my opinion. 😢😅😊😂

U can adjust the front lid gap to be tighter by adjusting the side mounting plates where the visor fits.

How your table misses the HJC, I have no idea. I own the HJC Carbon 90S black. As of today, the best I have ever owned in 30 years riding. Just superb and for the price, can't be beat.

He mentioned at the beginning of the video that HJC could not get them a test helmet before the shoot.

Prefer the AGV AX-8 or AX-9 shape. Looking like master chief from Halo on a motorcycle is a good thing.

My AGV K6 is not conducive to being able to hear Cardo comms even with noise cancelling earplugs in riding my GSXS1000GT over say 58 mph. I've been told carbon fiber helmets are noisier when it comes to windnoise.
