I was a bad YouTubian and used music that was not mine. Gasp! Subsequently, THIS 2nd part was blocked in some countries. I was able to remove the tunes, and re-post it. At 12:38 Danzig pops back in... I guess they get a pass. lol

Interesting idea but a bit short and to wide too be an efficient boat. I’m puzzled by the design of the bottom of the hull, why did you make those bits that hang down and not make it smooth?

+Dan Painter ...just regular latex paint... paint on the foam, then the fabric then more paint. Once that was dry, I repeated the same for a second layer. Then painted it light blue, which I didn't like... then dark blue. 6 layers of paint and 2 layers of cloth in total. And finally brushed on a layer of wood glue to the bottom for added strength. Thx for watching

@@dilbotmacguillacutty4849 I just watched a test on here noting that 5 layers of latex paint alone was enough to be able to use polyester resin and fiberglass: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xairm2WrZqh9dqg

Neat how technically we can use whatever fabric, fiber and even foil with resins or paints to adhere and seal to make a more secure structure whether structurally mechanically or for other reasons like EMF, radiation, solvents, biologics, etc.

CAN YOU USE EPOXY TO THE BARE FOAM? or should i do something first like paint or something. i don't wanna ruin everything please help me about that.
@dilbotmacguillacutty4849

Yes you can! The secret is Epoxy resine... Polyurethane resins will melt bare foam. Epoxy is more expensive than Polyurethane but will not melt it. You could try using spray adhesive and glue on sheets of tinfoil that overlap each other so the resin can't seep through. The pros use a professionally made product by 3M dubbed 'sticky back foil.. but I think tinfoil should work as 'reflects' some of the heat during the curing process. Test on a scrap piece of foam before you coat your boat! Cheerz

@dilbotmacguillacutty4849

Brad R ... I think it's sealed enough to prevent the resin from flowing through but the heat from the chemical reaction might disfigure the foam... not gonna chance it tho. I know of a adhesive backed foil product... stick on to both: seal from resin and protect against heat.

Foam core fiberglass is a very strong material, although he should have probably put fiberglass on the inside of the hull as well. All the tension stresses are loaded into the fiberglass, so all the foam "sees" is inwards compression. The whole boat basically acts as an i-beam.

+andrew nolan this is essentially 'poor man's fiberglass'... no resin, just exterior latex paint... and the cloth is a dollar store fabric sold to protect plants from frost. Not rock hard like real fiberglass but still better than nothing.
