Part of dropping sugar out of the diet is reducing all sweetness of all foods, and over time you stop looking for anything sweet tasting. I started with 90% Lindt chocolate, which seemed bitter at first, but after a couple of weeks I tried a 100% Montezuma chocolate and that is a different animal. Now I have totally converted to 100% chocolate and like it. The 90% seems too sweet now.

@Jack Neary cavities are mainly caused by sugars and acid. The higher the cacao %, the lower the sugar content although brands will slightly vary. I don't think dark chocolate is acidic or if so, a mild acidity. You'll notice with dark chocolate (especially 80% or above) it gets bitter. I love 90% dark chocolate as I'm on keto and tastes so much better as in cut sugar out. You also eat a lot less when it's dark. Long story short. I highly doubt dark chocolate contributes to cavities but oral hygiene is still very important but it won't rot your teeth like milk chocolate.

I have started making hot chocolate, one cup a day, with 1/2 milk, 1/2 water, 1 TBSP honey, and about a tsp of cocoa. I don't measure, so these are estimates. I'm not a sugar eater, so use honey for coffee, too. I find that the one cup of hot chocolate a day (you can make it cold, too, just after it's made on the stove and cools down, put it in the refrigerator for later), satisfies my wanting anything sweet, and it really hits the spot for after dinner or before bed. It doesn't bother my sleep, but it might bother some others. If your child is eating too much candy, try the hot chocolate with honey and see if you can wean him off the candy/sweetened cereals.

I know one thing, if I had an important exam tomorrow, then on top of the Rescue Remedy I customarily have handy - I'll make a point of having some high quality chocolate to hand. Psychologically speaking, I'm just in a better frame of mind when it melts in your mouth and slides down a treat.

Thank you, Dr Berg! Your advices are life saving! I went on keto now in a year ago! I lost 24 kilos and I do also fasting. I’m 41 but better shape than ever. I have a question. We’re having a baby! And we want to keep him/her away from the masses of carbs and bad stuff. So what do you recommend after the breastfeeding is over? What are first good ingridients for the baby’s digestion? Thank you for everything!

Dr. Berg, do you have any information on what causes Sun Bumps on my arms when exposed to the Sun. The bumps are itchy too! As great as I eat per your informative videos' over the last couple of years, I am stumped as to why I get these Sun Bumps per say! I put a dash of Cacao in my Omelette every morning along with 40 other spices. Sounds nuts; however, I figure a dash of every spice I can find that is organic can only make me feel wonderful. It is amazing Dr. Berg thinking about all the videos you have, that just continue to teach us what we should have been taught from pre-school. I just love shopping for the good foods and reading labels. I put many things back on the shelf after seeing what they put in the product that is not made for our precious bodies! What I have seen over the last ten years is people just blowing up like balloons. I see this and my heart breaks for them, as they are lacking knowledge on food intake. Much love to you and your family! Love 4Truth!
