Thank you for watching. I believe high hp builds are doable on a budget , however it is true the more money you spend the more power and more reliable it is. Additionally a good tuner, fuel , and not over powering the motor plays a VERY IMPORTANT ROLE.

I like that you mentioned that , yes the cam spec on the coyote motor for a truck is different than for a mustang .That also is due to as you mentioned it’s a truck. However, opening the motor and adding cams and ported heads will make it a dogggg. But, the cam profile on a truck is also beneficial because when you turbo a cam sometimes can have a reverse effect if there isn’t enough boost

Can you make 1100whp on a coyote for $10k...Possibly. Can you make it hold the power and make it usable for 10k...Absolutely NOT!! I have the On3 twin 67/66 billet turbo kit/ 18+ manifold/ OPGs/custom return style dual pump fuel system with FIC 1200s. I made around 700 on pump and 850ish on E @10psi (yes I could have made a little more). Probably around $12k in performance parts. To get the power to the ground I am about another $10k in lowering kit and wheels and tires. Best part is the motor let go after about 2-3k miles with cracked ring lands on 3 pistons. Why did this happen you ask? Coyotes can make 1000hp stock block right? Well some can and do but more than likely its a short lived affair. Biggest issue with the Coyote and almost all other ford engines is ring gaps on the newer vehicles being too tight (0.006-0.010) top rings. This allows for a better fuel burn for EPA emissions purposes but after putting a little heat into the block those ring gaps close up and break piston ring lands. Boosted applications usually run more than double usually closer to 3x those ring gaps. So... in my case to reliably hold 1100 wheel and put that power down I will be into my build without cost of the truck around $40-45k that is not a typo! I dont want people to get the impression that they can do this build and expect to have an factory engine last very long this was my impressions as well. Also my motor let go on 91 octane 8 psi of boost.
@TRAFFICONS
2 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing , with ring gap and better fuel it’s 1000hp to the crank is possible . 1100whp Yh ofc that’s not goin for be reliable/possible you need to look at building your motor. It’s still a stock 5.0 and that’s why the title is called 1100 hp because there are whipple 5.0 that can make 1100hp which is approximately 750-800whp with e85. We use 93 pump where I’m from.
@dmaxk2804
2 ай бұрын
@@TRAFFICONS Yes there are a lot of guys making that 700-800 wheel number turbo or blower. 91-93 octane are very close to one another and if your squeezing it you maybe able to get away with a degree or more of timing from 91-93 however usually not worth it. Again my motor let go on 91 pump making those same numbers of about 700-750 but the truck was nice and warm. I was cruising on a rode rally event and went to pass someone probably a 60-120 pull when it happened. I believe that the cooler fuel burn and detonation characteristics of ethanol would have saved my motor even on a higher boost and hp setting. Also my gen 3 coyote was tuned by Lund my personal opinion is that they also are a little timing spicy with there tunes just an FYI for some others looking at tuners.

The coyote platform is very reliable. Oil pump gears , proper tuning and fueling , the issue would be transmission slip at most but after a certain point you’d need to build it because no one stay at one hp. So really a long time in my opinion

If you want it reliable, like not even a little chance, they have to build the motor build the trans build the rear end. Build the transfer case build the front end. But to be like reasonable, just opg, cranks support, upgrade the transmission with some better steals and clutches, couple shafts then you’re good to go.
