This is a simple biology experiment. Boil leaves and remove the soft tissue. The skeleton remains. The skeleton of a leaf are the vessels that carry water. In this video I will show you how to prepare them and I will also put them under my stereo microscope. You first have to boil the leaves for a few hours and then remove the softened tissue with a brush.
The vascular tissue includes xylem and phloem. Water is transported in the xylem and sometimes these cells are reinforced to make them stronger. The skeleton of the leaf therefore contains reinforced vascular tissue.
