Mono synths are my favourite. And I’m really enjoying this Odyssey. They force you to be more melodic and creative, with their limitations.

Last I looked, they were still pretty cheap (sub £400 new) for what is a real good quality synth. I've never really used the inbuilt FX in mine, but listening to someone else using them they sound alright. Might have to rethink.

I don't use my behringer Odyssey nearly as much as I should but when I do I always end up returning to 1 of your Odyssey jams as I think there the best out there 🎉😊 I even scawered Ebay for months trying to get my mitts on a behringer Time Machine "" after an Unbelievable patch you came up with in your other video, A Dark tremolo effected wobbling Drone that I simply can't replicate even after countless hours of trying 😢 Anyway,, Thanks for the inspirational vids 😊

WOW!! Made my mine up on getting one of these.... and also I totally agree with what you say at the start of the video about your thoughts on a one note at a time mono synth being..... well too limited... That's where I'm at now and it is so clearly NOT limited at all. Only my knowledge on mono synths is. Those coloured LEDS too!

I appreciate understanding sound design and how to get the sound you want. But for speed of production in the studio (and for live performance going through different tracks), patch memory is fantastic. Any suggestions from you for a synth with sound character like the odyssey but with patch memory?

I heard, I think it was The Wizard himself, a story that someone had bought a new MiniMoog and just gave it to him just because it was "broken" as far as the original owner was concerned, or at least useless as it was only monophonic. Wish I had friends like that 😂

A glockenspiel is a "bell play", a xylophone is a "wood sound".

@AutoReport1

@@TheUnperson glockenspiels are sometimes referred to as metallophones, but this also includes more complex instruments like steel marimbas with resonators and vibraphonee with resonators, motors and sustain pedals. Marimbas are usually xylophones with resonators (gourds or pipes), but it's still a marimba even if it's not a xylophone (if it has stone, ceramic or metal bars). And of course a toy piano is a glockenspiel hidden inside a miniature piano body. If you're not going to balk at calling that a piano why wouldn't you call a toy glockenspiel a xylophone as well.

Can you please tell how you've made a sequence from intro jam? I try to use Arps for this kinda vibe, but can't quite get why my results are way more boring and don't sound as interesting.
