On 9 Sep 2023, together with a few kakis, I joined the newbies ride to JB (Johor Bahru, Malaysia) organized by Cycling SG to Malaysia (CSG2MY) facebook group.
Crossing Borders, Breaking Barriers.
We were all very keen to learn how to cycle into our neighboring country and to experience the thrill of cycling in Malaysia.
I have met up with my kakis at Junction 10 (Near Bukit Panjang/Choa Chu Kang) and we cycled up via Woodlands road to the meeting point (goo.gl/maps/Hrd26a5SALVX4vQ97)
There were a total of 17 riders, including 'The Enablers' whom were experienced leads and sweepers. Out of the 12 newbie riders, 7 were using foldies which included Brompton.
There were several stops along the way, including an impromptu stop due to rain. Total distance covered within JB was approx 50Km. There were many 'road hazards' to take note for cyclists - potholes, manholes and metal grille covers. Some road-riding experiences, stamina, courage and good bike handling skill are needed in order to cycle to and fro and in Malaysia.
This video is the longest I have made till date. Hope viewers can have a good idea of the ride.
Due to some technical issue, my 'dashcam' (Cyclic Fly12 Sport) wasn't recording when we were cycling in. I had only switched on my Insta360 camera after crossing Singapore Custom.
Due to laws and regulations, recording is not allowed inside the customs.
