We miss Rodrigo’s/Don Jose’s - especially their chips and salsa. I don’t know if that’s considered good Mexican food but we love it and haven’t found anything yet that we like as much. Mi Cancun is okay. The search continues.😊

Thats exactly how we felt (and still do)..thankfully I can cook too. But it is fun exploring and trying new mexican food spots. Let me know if you find some you like!

Area is beautiful but it’s definitely a little boring. The area is over regulated, HOA’s are dictatorial/micromanagey, dog breed restriction galore, people here have been “forced” to accept outsiders and the majority are reserved/rude/unfriendly. I haven’t seen “southern hospitality” to be honest. Maybe more prevalent in the rural areas? Highways are not lighted (why???) and some neighborhoods are dark at night. Neighborhoods are EXTREMELY quiet, Property taxes are super high ON TOP of state taxes and it’s not much of a deal financially anymore. Maybe before Covid like many other places though. Area needs a lot of work but has potential.

I agree its a beautiful area, but definitely a slower pace of life if you come from a big city. And yes, we didn't have HOA's where we used to live so that was shocking for us to see just how many communities have very active HOA's. I'm sorry you haven't experienced true "southern hospitality" ... Non lighted highways, no shoulders to pull over on , narrower streets where you can't park on either side while another car can still drive through (or no street parking at all)🙄 yes there are some very "different" ways here...IDK about quiet neighborhoods depends where you live, there are quite a few I've been in with very lively atmosphere and kids playing, riding bikes, and people walking their dogs or running. Taxes are way lower for us here than they were in CA we were taxed to death out there.

Thinking of Raleigh? Then consider: If you eat fast food, I hope you like fried chicken. ❤ It takes 20 minutes to drive from point A to point B in Raleigh, EVERY time, I don’t care what google maps tells you. ❤ Your family might never visit you in Raleigh, because “There’s nothing to do there.” ❤ North Carolina is a homeschool-friendly state; it’s not difficult to get registered. ❤ I love it here😊
