i love everything abt her parenting but the crying part I slightly disagree with. i think that the emotional vulnerability between mother and child should be more embraced and accepted. that way, your child can understand that crying is normal and a healthy way to cope and express emotions rather than hide/supress it all the time. although it may upset the child to see their parent distressed, this not only bonds them, parents can teach their child that not everyday is a good day and that is okay. and then yall can cry together :D family activity!!

My sons saw me cry. They grew up to be sensitive to women`s issues. They both have daughters, and by now they have seen plenty of tears. It turns out that it is far more important to let children have lot`s of time with their father, if the father wants that. What women cannot give to the children is a mans viewpoint, and kids need that vantagepoint too. Good luck Angelina in all your endeavors.

Angelina seems a loving and good mother which is a great foundation for any child, but children need some formal education and some responsibilities. Having their every need and wants catered to is not the best plan for their development into responsible independent adults. However, their opportunities to experience other cultures is a unique treasure that will go a long ways in their cognitive and overall psychological development. So sad to see the marriage fall apart, usually very hard on children. Hope they have good therapists!

For those saying that the children are very sheltered and controlled, I think they’re not. Of course they’re not as “free” as children of regular/non-celeb parents since they’re children of A-List celebs, but they seem to be engaged in activities that allows them to live normally. Some of the children already have their own cars and have been papped doing errands and meeting friends. I I think the two boys are also already attending college/uni with the eldest even enrolled in a uni in Korea. Shiloh’s been papped going to music and dance lessons. Shiloh and Zahara have also been papped hanging out with a few hollywood stars of their same ages. In general, I think the children are just not as papped as much (most probably for their security) that’s why we think they’re very sheltered.

Brad must have said something that really pissed her off, ahe is very cindictive and haas given her xhildren a negative pictiure of their Fad. She can make them believe anything true or false. I completely agree with you. Vindictiveness can be a very bitter pill. I'd be careful were I her. These children will grow up and form their own opinions as to the lengths she went to to keep them from their father. I'm not saying he is perfect, but he has done a lot to become a better dad, parenting courses, quit drinking and much more. Her agenda to smear him at all costs seems really transparent considering that it comes from someone who is allegedly a former heroin addict. She is furious with the current Judge because he refused to allow the testimony of their (hers and Brad's) minor children. I'd say that Judge is wise, there has been an inordinate amount of time, where the children were in her sole custody, for her to poison the well and what the children would have to say would have been heavily influenced by her clear cut hatred of Brad. I just hope that he prevails and she is forced, once and for all, to facilitate whatever co parenting arrangement the court decides on. She says she doesn't cry in front of her children? (Personally, I don't agree with this. I don't mean you should cry all the time) Children need to know that it's ok to cry, emotions are a good thing and we learn how to manage our feelings. Maybe she should take her own advice and refrain from poisoning her children's potential relationship with their father. JMHO.

A lot of Jolie's ideas on bringing up children are admirable, but others are not particularly realistic. She grew up as privileged herself, whereas Brad grew up as in an all American household with normal parents. The children should have chores as it teaches them some responsibility. Jolie's idea that her children are her best friends is a little weird as she is the parent and as such she can still have a good relationship with them being one. Not having the children interact with other children other than the immediate family and not having friends outside the home in my opinion isn't particularly healthy, as well as hiding certain emotions from them, but just my opinion. Probably, Brad's parenting would be much healthier and yet she wants to take that away from him and only allow him visitation. She definitely is a little strange regardless of her humanitarian deeds

Not having the children interact with other kids their own age is something that the super wealthy - especially royalty - do in order to reinstate their own status. @@coryhawley738 I totally get your point.. Thats probably the reason why Angielina wants to be close to her children and bring a more open relationship coz she knew how it feels to not have one and that made her into drugs.. Obviously a lot of people wants to be raised like the Smiths and Kardashans but I totally approve her parenting skills.. She limit her children until they are 21 with these rules.. Its a basic point for her kids to be more connected with family, values, morals, and self awarenes on their own until they are 21 without the influence of society, media and othe people.. Making sure that they are well ready enough and more prepared for the world before they leave her nest and do things on their own like his son Maddox who went off to Korea.. @Björn Johansen its more strict for some but lets consider that they are celebrities shes also working and as much as the kids want to be with other kids she is thinking of their safety and media ambush and like she said addiction.. Freedom for children is a dangerous nowdays especially on their part being a celebrity and wealthy people coz no matter how good your parenting skills is influence from outside source like friends, media and society itself is huge factor in bringing out the worst on children.. Shes doing whats best for her kids and I think its just the best way to go being a celebrity..

I don't get Angelina. She is just spoiling the kids by over protecting them. Kids should learn chores from a young age and not be spoon fed everything. Life is definitely not normal like that. If they can't touch alcohol until the age of 21, which is absolutely the right thing, how is it ok to expose their kids to gender neutrality? Absolute nonsense. I feel sorry for Brad. He wanted to teach a sense of responsibility to his kids and this video calls him authoritarian. It's no wonder he turned to alcohol. He must have known the problems these rules would bring.

What a very impractical style of parenting by Angelina....Brad is more practical....Angelina is taking it for granted that she will always have access to wealth and that her children will always be priviliged as a result of her having wealth but should fortunes turn around, those children will not know how to survive because they will be spoilt brats who have never learnt basic houshold responsibilities, like how to wash dishes etc. and they will go into a state of depression because they were never thought to live a life without the luxurious priviliges.....Very irresponsible parenting that is misconstrued as love...Angelina is doing those kids more harm than good.

I do like her, her movies... But there is one thing I do not support. Angelina is a great actress, she is compassionate and is doing a lot of humanitarian work. But as a mother... Well there are a few things she did really wrong. She made a difference between her biological children and her adopted ones. Well there shouldn't be any difference at all. If you want to have a family, treat everyone equally! As equals, they can truly experience being siblings. I understand why Brad insisted on chores... He wasn't an actor his whole life, he grew up on a ranch. Chores are important. It's a part of being independent and also to learn to be grateful if you have servants. If you did chores, you will appreciate those people doing it for you. There is no guarantee that the children will remain in a wealthy environment... There might be a change of tide.. so it's important that they learned how to live on their own. And the dispute is probably that Brad insisted on Maddox to be a man, but Angelina was more protective ... And well teenagers are quite known as being more or less rebellious, also not quite a fan of chores.. so it's clear that he would take his mother's side. It will take more or less a decade that those kids will understand and admit that they father was right and that they had given their parents quite a hard time... And probably had a part in the parents divorce. It's sad, but true... When parents see that the kids suffer because of the marriage, most will divorce.

Angelina has been damaged by her own parent’s fights and divorce. She’s trying to make it right for her own children but is she??? There’s nothing wrong with showing emotions in front of your children as long as they know you are ok and it’s ok to express feelings. She must have had a very hard time with her own mother’s fragility and her own mom didn’t know how to reassure her. Also, children are NOT supposed to be your friends. They are your children and you can’t be their friend. You must parent them so they feel safe and secure. Children with poor parental boundaries don’t turn out ok. I think Angelina actually hides behind her children to avoid the real world and its people. She does have a good heart but being a philanthropist is different than the ability to form connections with others. She probably has no friends and neither do her children. Not healthy at all. There’s nothing beneficial about a permissive parenting style if it’s not balanced with structure and responsibility. So give them chores to do, Angelina, if you want them to grow up like normal folks. They’ll thank you more later on.

I don't think this video has all the information, or is 100% accurate on the facts, and even more importantly, it's none of our business... but in any case, there are a thousand different ways of parenting, and they all have their pros and cons. What Angelina and Brad are doing is good for the kids in many many ways, but the kids will also grow up lacking other experiences that are enriching and very educational. Does it matter? Do they actually need those experiences to suceed in life or are there alternatives that work just as well (or even better)? Only time can tell. The important thing is to find a balance and that when you become an adult and go it alone, you can manage with what you've been given. Whose to say these kids won't be able to tackle life? Maybe they'll be excellent at it and maybe they won't, but what's certain is that they'll approach it differently to most of the rest of us and neither them nor us know what is going to happen, so we shouldn't be judging. I think, like everyone else growing up, they have been given tools for success but also for failure, so it could go either way. Just because it's different, doesn't mean it's bad.
Not only is Angelina special so is Brad Pitt. He is a special dad and husband he adopted the children and never gave it a second thought. That's a dad. So much about Angelina lately, so unfair that Brad Pitt does not get the same treatment.

Angelina Jolie is a good mother, as well us Brad Pitt as a father , maybe he is not present in their lives but monetarily he supports his kids. Who are we to judge Angelina with her parental style . She travels with her kids all over the world seeing families separatedly by wars, poverty and persecution her children knows how hard life is, to live seeing it first hand and experiencing those things these kids will be successful in their chosen field guarantee. As human beings we grow learn from our mistakes who are we to judge people. Mind your business take care your life do not worry other people business. Angelina, Brad and their children are doing good. Traveling and seeing is believing will put you a different prospective in life. I'm a fan of Brangelina I support them wholeheartedly because of their generosity and uplift the lives of marginalized ones. Leave them alone people.

and could Angelina stop driving her brainless admirers crazy with her unsuccessful family life and go about her direct duties. that is, to act in films and give us pleasure. all the stars who exist at our expense think that their only goal is to get as much money from us as possible and talk about their troubles. I speak as an art historian. the profession of an actor is to entertain the public and at the same time receive an appropriate salary and alms from those who wish. This is true? they are already sitting on our heads and dictating their unthinkable conditions. they live off you and me. what are you paying for?

Correction: Jolie adopted Maddox alone and he met Brad when he was like 2-2 1/2 years old.

I'm with Brad, more authoritarian. No formal schooling? Instead learn to play the guitar? Such a disservice to her children! I agree traveling to other countries and learning about other cultures is a good thing, but the rest is pure crap!! Shame on her!!

She wants fully custody... Limiting their father’s presence. Daddy’s issues might occur. Knowing the history with her own father... Well, maybe she hasn’t healed from it.
