The vest you made out of grass can also serve as a ghillie suit to some degree. It would help mask your scent as well. Having hunted in a ghillie suit of my own making I've actually had deer come within arms length of me, thinking I was a bush looking for something to eat. The best skill you demonstrated was making a pair of sandals. Something of a necessity on Naked and Afraid, which you deserve cudos for making it through the 21 days.

Just watched you on Naked and Afraid. Admire the determination and cooperation you and Sam demonstrated. I’m a 62 year old retired speech-language pathologist living in Mississippi in America. I feel like I can only be an armchair enthusiast now. However, I am a rational prepper and have managed through poverty, unemployment, devastating Hurricane Katrina and increasing power outages including a recent three day power outage while caring for a supplemental oxygen dependent ( and therefore electricity-dependent) 80 year old mother with dementia and seven year old granddaughter! Honestly I hope I’m never in a real-life situation where I will need to recall any of the things I am learning from you! But you never know when an “ approximation” of what I have seen you do becomes necessary even in my own life! Thanks for inspiration!

If only more survival shows had more capable people like her. Many dudes like to point at Bear Grylls island show where women did poorly and assume that women are innately incapable of self-survival, ignoring that those failed because of their poor skills. It saddens me that many think that half of our species are this pathetic (even as a man myself, this is nothing to be proud of. What if a loved one gets stranded?). If only we had more strong representatives of womanhood.

This is a very complex issue because you never know where you will end up. Winter, humidity, desert, forests. there are certain aspects that are needed everywhere. but there is a big difference between making a shelter in a dry forest and in the snow or, for example, in the Indian jungle. all these experiences need to be not only known but also practiced. In some places, for example, an emergency shelter is not enough, but you also need to protect yourself from predators. they can be bears or wolves in some cases big cats or even a pack of primates. you need to find drinking water and be able to treat it so that it can be drunk without high risks, you should know edible plants, fruits and therefore mushrooms and roots and where they are most likely to be found. it is also necessary to know which animal can be eaten relatively without risk and which is better to use as fish bait. I think the Survival Knowledge video that everyone should have could be as long as both avatar movies combined and even then it probably wouldn't be enough. However, I like Lilly very much and her work is very beneficial. I hope that one day we will meet for a video where all aspects of this "sport" will be at least partially summarized. Thank you for your attention and I wish you all the best in training your skills in the outdoors.

There's something I wanna say about the primitive clothing thing; it's *definitely* true that it's a necessary survival skill to be able to make clothes that'll protect you from the elements and *other* hazards when you *need* that protection, and you might *already* know what I'm gonna say to be true from *experience* , but even in a *survival* situation there's a number of situations in which it's actually *more* practical to go *naked* . If you need to *swim* to collect something for instance, clothing's actually a *hindrance* because it creates *drag* and restricts your ability to rotate your body. The fact that there's some situations in which it's actually *more* practical to be naked has remained true the world and history over, and it's *still* true today, however much anyone might say otherwise.
