You're getting all setup! Would like to come see it in person. Maybe next summer.

Thanks for sharing 👍. I've got that on my 21' RTL ,I really like it. I made an add on wiring harness to plug in my Zumo XT. I got the matching connector on Amazon.

If possible, could you send me the link to the matching connector? I plan on getting the Zumo XT on down the road a bit.

😁I scared Susan one day when I had all the panels off our RT. I asked her for some "help" and when she saw all those panels scattered all over the carport I thought she would faint away. Good times.

I had experience from the scoot so I was hoping it would all come back to me. I also remember on the Black scoot I broke some tabs off not knowing what I was doing. Gun shy a little but I got over it.

I have the same installed on my RT, and the polarity on the accessory plug on my Spyder was also reversed, had to use the additinal wiring extension provided by Slingmods in their kit to fix that too. It's one of my favorite mods on my Soyder 😁👍👍

I think it is going to be great. I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 (Just above a map and a compass) that has the 12 Volt cigarette lighter adapter. So does my hand held CB for the Goldwing group stuff. I'm ready now man.

nice. I bonus I found out is that my Ryker has two USB ports from the factory. I can charge my phone and stuff without issue.

My long time friend Sam Smith has a Ryker and tapped in to the power cord on the front USB ports for his GPS. It works fine.

Until the mesh versions you were also hard pressed to get more than 2 people connected on a Sena. I hear it’s a little better with the latest versions. But we sometimes have over 10 members on a ride 😎😎

That is why the Goldwing group uses CB radios. You can have multiple riders listen in to the ride Captain for hazards.

@@theSMYRNAcowboy Yup, same here. The trouble is the CB is a dying commodity on motorcycles. You can’t get one on an Indian and J&B Elec quit making their CB on the handlebar. 😟😎😎

I am struggling to find a good GPS solution. I also don't wanna pay a lot of money for something like a Garmin Zumo XT. According to Coach Bob, if you run it (Garmin) on battery you lose 40% of the screen brightness and I really plan on never modifying any of the wiring on my bike. I've struggled with "Rever" and "Genius Maps" and I paid for a miserable product called "Scenic" and they are all so terrible I won't mess with them ever again. It is a shame that such an expensive bike has such terrible software (BRP connect/bluetooth madness and the included apps are just best not bothered with). Just me, my phone and my Cardo. For my trip to West Virginia I'm going to try and just use my phone and Google maps and plan ahead.

I've had a GPS for my other bikes and both of them had Cigarette lighter adapters. With this mod, I just plug it in. The hardest things were..... 1. Taking of the panels. More nerve-wracking than anything. 2. The polarity issue I had for 3 mins. That was easy. If you use Google maps, I would download the route to you phone BEFORE you get on the road. Don't know if you will have interrupted cell service on your trip.

@@theSMYRNAcowboy I watched the video you provided and that does look like a super easy install. I tried downloading routes and made a short trip yesterday using google maps and the silly thing wanted me to give some sort of comment/review including a smily face in the middle of my route. Since my gloves don't really work with my phone I could not get rid of it and I missed my turn. Sure does make a case for a real GPS system!

You sir are correct. It turns off with the key as well. It sort of threw me for a second when the polarity was backwards but I remembered the other wire. Then, easy as pie. I checked the Cig adapter with a volt meter and it gave me a negative reading.

I spoke to Sling mods before ordering and they were not aware of the polarity issue that you mentioned. is that corrected by using a different cable? You said "splice" so I am wondering what is involved.
@theSMYRNAcowboy

If you notice in the picture, Slingmods supplies you with a Red and Black reverse polarity cable you can insert (no splicing needed) going to the 12Volt Docking Station. Easy peasy.

@@theSMYRNAcowboy Thank you for the quick reply. I spoke to support and they said you could use both USB and 12 v at the same time but stopped short of saying it could run a GPS. I am going to order it and take my chances based on your video. Thanks man!
