So you need 14 volts? Buy a 14 volt battery. Need 16 volts? Buy a 16 volt battery, right?
Yea, that's not how that works. Here we do a somewhat quick walkthrough of why higher resting voltage batteries open up a whole new box of pro's and con's. If you don't have the 9 minutes for the video, please remember the following data(AGM Batteries). This is a RANGE, there is always a high and low "grey area" between different battery manufacturers. Consult your battery builder for unique requirements.
12 volt batteries need to charge at/around 13.8-14.9 volts
14 volt batteries need to charge at/around 15.8 -16.8 volts
16 volt batteries need to charge at/around 18.2-19.2 volts

If you do not have TWO alternators, you can realistically only run ONE voltage. Many 2/3/4 alternator setups can be ran at 12v for the vehicle side and 14 or 16 for the audio equipment side. I don't know of any Racecar that will run 2 alternators to achieve this. If they did, then they're not fast. Stick with the basics and the Keep It Simple Stupid method, (KISS).

Also, please remember to verify your add on equipment can tolerate 15-17-19 volts of charge. Most amplifiers need to stay around 16 volts. So if you have a 16 volt battery....that's not gonna end well.
