We didn't even have cell phones in the 90's, yet I was introduced to Yahoo & AOL chatrooms at my friends house when I was 10/11. My parents didn't even know. We didn't even have a computer at home. It's better to just talk to your kids. My mom never sugar-coated anything, so I knew about r4pe & mvrder at a young age. This might have happened to me too at 11 because there was someone pressuring me to meet them, but since my mom taught me exactly what r4pe was & how people lie I knew to say no. You can't shield your kids from everything. They will find away. Just make sure they have all the knowledge they need. They're not as dumb as you might think.

I tell them and have a sign on the door that they cannot use cell phones in the clinic. I truly believe that their cell phone use causes many issues as they are communicating with God knows who on those cell phones! I know many are using it to get out of school and meet up with someone. Pedophiles and sex offender are everywhere. Release by a judge even though they done it many times. Criminals are well protected by US law and now they are funded too by LGBT whatsoever rights, That's why they love America.

It doesn't always have to do with online or phones. I know most of it is do these days. But my sister would seek out almost every night when she was 13. And that was back in the early 90s. If a kid wants to do that you can't stop them. Unless you nail your windows shut lol. That what our mother's boyfriend did to keep her in lol.

Just sad for a young life to be gone like that. But every generation has kids who do things they know they shouldn't. Most of the stuff these kids do today, many of us did when we were kids. So a lot of this stuff could have happened to us/or it did happen. At that age I was scared to be outside at night by myself, but I had friends/family whose parents let them do whatever they wanted/or they snuck around to do it. Unfortunately, many had to deal with severe/or deadly consequences for their actions. I remember the times being so mad at my mom that I wanted to run away. But then I thought about what happens to kids that are out on the streets. It wasn't worth it. At 12 I remember that's when sex talk/lingo was introduced to me by other kids. There were even 6th grade boys/girls who became parents that I went to school with.

She snuck out on her own, and considering the crimes kids commit today, I'd be willing to bet she and a group of friends snuck out for no good and someone got revenge.

Everyone jumping to conclusions. The cops said that the parents claimed she snuck out. It may or may not be true. Most crimes like this are perpetrated by a family member or someone close to the family. It still could be someone she met via internet but we don't know yet.
