Kingbolen kindly sent me the BM550 for review. Its a battery analyser meant for car and motorcycle batteries. An easy review, or so I thought until I realized that measuring batteries is way more complicated as I thought. My goal in reviews is always to understand what the thing does and verify how well it is doing it. For the BM550 I had to learn a lot on battery models which is why this video is so long and quite "dry and theoretical" over long passages. Sorry, I don't know how to explain what I did in the practical part without covering the theory at least to some degree.
Anyway, I like the BM550 and although it has accuracy issues when the battery resistance is unusually high, it works well for the type of batteries I tested, which included 18650 cells.
