Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After I caught 362 just west of Hillsboro, I decided to chase it east over to this crossing in Decatur, as I wanted to ensure I got at least one video of it going past a mechanical bell. Here we see NS 362 rolling through Decatur, with the Penn Central heritage unit still in the lead.
As you can see, there has been no major changes to this crossing. Thankfully, since I recorded it last summer, it seems the signal maintainer here has given the remaining mechanical bell at this crossing a bit of a tune-up, and it sounds noticeably better than before. Hopefully it remains in good shape like this for a nice long time to come yet.
