Please, Do NOT use the Phatrip car door step, or Any Other step that uses the door stud catch. The Stud Catch is definitely strong, but it is Not designed to be used in that manner. 1. You WILL bend the stud and make your door not shut properly. 2. More importantly, you can actually damage the steel around the stud and make it sheer while standing on it, or even worse, allow it to become weak and FAIL to hold the door closed while the car is in motion, or in a collision.

The first one, never ever put sealant into the tire, it will create a big mess in side the tire and makes it very difficult to remove the tires for proper repair. Plus, the rotational force and heat will sometime pop the sealant out of the hole and your tire will go flat again. If you got poke right between the side wall and the contact patch, your tire is gone, not worth your safety to try to fix it. If it's right on the tread side, do a proper plug/patch.

The problem with tire sealant like that is that after using it, the tire is now severely unbalanced. You certainly won't be able to drive at highway speed, or even full city speed. The tire will have to come off, all the sealant removed and be repaired correctly. What do you mean, starts engines up to XX gallons?
@tobygathergood4990
2 жыл бұрын
@Russell Phelan I thought that it might be that, but what sized gallon? Imperial or U.S. Being an old Englishman, I always think in Imperial which is 4.45L the U.S. gallon is 3.78L. Neither one is an impressive displacement for an engine. Besides I always think in cubic inch displacement. The two engines I'm currently running are 460 ci and 445 ci.
@carlbModels

Actually I have to disagree - I've used other sealant products, balance is fine even up to very high speed. PROVIDED the tyre was balanced before the sealant was applied. It spreads out evenly as the tyre rotates! 👍🍺🇬🇧

The design of the step pulls outward on the hook, not downward. The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards state that a door latch must withstand 30 G's of force pulsed in 30ms intervals. The average car door weighs 130-150 lbs. 30 × 130 = 3,900 lbs (for 30ms). The door latch is much stronger than you imagined, and I don't believe 300 lbs, continuous, would cause any damage or movement.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System is not design for the velocity of vehicle going over 45mph, I had some and they work great will driving in the city, but once on got on a Highway or freeway, it would slowly lose air. The top cap pressing the air intake against the rim, eventually breaking the seal and letting air out. This is great for city driving only, four wheelers and off road bikes. It was a wast of money for me, cause now it's on the shelf until I get something that requires it and with speeds low then 45mph.

Not sure I'd trust a cheap bicycle, let alone an expensive one, mounted to the top of my car by a couple of suction cups.

Not a single "idea" is new, most are unnecessary, some even ridiculous. No need to praise them as the invention or product of the decade.

I can see thr tire pressure and temp being useful. Not so much for pressure as for the temp sensor. Knowing if a specific tire is overheating can be helpful to know if there's a deeper problem to address. Like, bad wheel bearing generating heat, or frozen brake caliper causing issues.
