A small tip I have is whenever you're about to put on a hoodie or a sweatshirt with a "fuzzy" texture on the inside I highly recommend that you slip on a bonnet or whatever you use to cover your head at night before you put the sweater on. This will help prevent lint from getting in your locks and it also prevents the friction from pulling your sweatshirt over head from causing frizz. (This work for braids too)

Female pattern baldness runs in my family. So I had a double WHAMMY! With tension alopecia, I felt i needed to start fresh to hopefully build back my thickness before I did irreparable damage. So I did the big chop and shave. I miss my dreads every now and then...

Yeah me to I just took out my box braids and went to go wash my hair from the build up and my hair locked right up. So I’m gonna have to do the big chop

I've been using Aloe Vera plant when I shower and it helps my hair clump and curl up together, then I put castor or tee tree oil on my scalp and shake and I'm ready to start my day. Simple and easy. How often do you separate your Locs as a freeformer KNOT?

Honestly, the breakage is my enemy right now. I bleached my hair beforehand and a couple locks had to be brushed out, or started over. It's a journey 🙏😇💗

I’ve been not brushing my hair for some time it’s taking a long time probably cause I’m 75% Caucasian and 25% African American so my hair texture isn’t very kinky , that being said I’m dedicated to free forming and can’t wait for the results .

I had the same kind of frizzy hair on top of my head. I find it cute but actually, I found that once I started washing my hair with natural cleansers (egg yolk, or chickpea flour mix, or shikakai - I have never tried the last one) they don't come out nearly as much. Shampoos do that to my hair. Also mantaining hydration helps, I like fenugreek water, aloe juice and sealing lightly with oils. You might be high porosity like me, when hair loses moisture, it frizzes up. Mantaining moisture in the hair and avoiding harsh shampoos worked for me.

The real struggle for me at least was and still is the visible hair roots. I tried cutting them but It would take more than I would accept. I tried to dye my locs and it worked for 3 weeks. I stopped crocheting and playing with the locs but they still did appear. I really need help with this one.

Yo KnotLocks. I’ve been freeforming for about a month now and am going to a locktition soon. My hair in the back is starting to lock up a little bit. Should I leave it and go like that or brush it out before I go? What is easier for them. What holds better? Thanks, knatty for life.
