In place of poster board, I use the back of a vinyl placemat from Dollar Tree to cover my work space. I can wash it off and keep reusing it over and over.
@jeanetted6074

If you need a larger workspace, you can use the poster board and wrap it in dollar store plastic wrap. It makes it easy to wipe clean and the plastic wrap helps to secure it to the table surface so it won’t slip around. If it is too messy to clean, simply unwrap and replace with new wrap of cling wrap.

Wow, now I know why I picked up so many paper towel holders. Someone suggested using 3 of them for legs to a table. When they finally had done in the store. I picked up6 of them and never made any tables with them. Thanks for all the hacks. Yes we need them badly. Oh and the over the chair back covers. I already have the shoe racks on the backs of two doors. I have had. My circuit fir over a year and still have not used it. My 13 year step daughter got it out of the box and set it on a table but I still haven’t touched it. I keep breaking bones, the last one was ,y left shoulder bone fractured all the way across. It’s almost healed and almost finished with rehab. Oh you can buy boxes of Magic erasers by their generic name from Amazon. They are cheaper than a dollar a piece.

Stepping from Dollar Tree (which I love!), at 10:14 that paper towel holder is denting the rolls, and what happens when you pull a roll out nearer the bottom? I prefer spending a little more to hold more. IKEA has a VARIERA plastic bag dispenser for about $3. It has room for 14 rolls.

Ashley Noland Tape the corners with masking tape when cutting it off the roll, and place it under heavy books or filled project cases to flatten it while you work on getting the rest ready. A graphic design school trick. It works great with any rolled item: like butcher paper, contact paper, and wrapping paper. When you put it on the mat use masking tape to tape all the corners down if flattening didn’t work for some reason.

Glad to see I already had some of these ideas..so I'm on the right track.lol I use envelopes for alot of things, vinyl pieces, card fronts ready to go, card stock pieces etc.THE PUMP BOTTLE a MUST. no more spilling alcohol!! Love sifter idea for glitter.And the colored rubberband idea..I would have to make a chart and attach it to remember what color was for what vinyl. :) pencil boxes have a bunch, container for pens, glues etc, use alot of larger container from there for alot of small items, pens,big one. Ok Happy Crafting.. thanks again. Have to go add some to my list.. contact paper , sifter. I have used clear nail polish to seal edges of vinyl for a sign outdoors.. My son told me that. They do it on graphics on cars. Loved it..Oh have a hint... the cover sheet for our mats, I CUT OUT "SMALL" DRAGON FLIES, BUTTERFLIES AND ADDED 2 TO EACH MAT UP IN CORNER SO I WOULD KNOW WHAT COVER WENT WITH WHAT MAT, IF I MORE THAN ONE, I PUT A NUMBER ON THEM SO I DONT GRAB AND USE A DIFFERENT ONE EACH TIME. ALSO CAN PUT A FEW ALL OVER MAT, STANDS OUT ,EASIER TO FIND AND ,YOU WON'T THROW OUT.MY BIG THING IS, I ALWAYS WANT TO HAVE THE "Same"-Back" SIDE NEXT TO THE MAT (ocd) how it originally came off,WILL REMIND YOU. HAVE FUN CRAFTING..

Can you do a video using the dollar or any type of contact paper for the felt
@stacy1916
4 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify.... lay the mat down, then the contact paper on top with the unsticky side down since the mat will hold it. That leaves the sticky side of the contact paper up to put the felt on.
@cherylehughes5594

Place the sticky side of the contact paper to the felt. Then, place the non-sticky side onto the mat. That way, the felt will not touch you mat. Cut felt side up, as usual.

Yes, that means you're uploading a PNG. Make sure you upload the SVG. if you cannot, in the canvas you'll see an option on the top called "fill" and you'll select "no fill". PNG's automatically want to print then cut.

When you're watching a video from a year ago, but you just got into using a Circuit at the end of August, but you did a few of these hacks before your machine even arrived- makes you wonder how long have you been a Dollar Tree, Queen, :D Another great storage option - which is the 1st thing I grabbed at my Local DT, found it where they put the storage baskets, is the organizer that is meant for cleaning supplies has a handle, and you can take your cleaning supplies from room to room, well I use mine along with the traditional Pen/Pencil holder that is in the video (Black Mesh one) I sit that in the carrier and put all my tools and a few ink pens in it, then I have my cloth tape measure in there, my LED mini desk "lamps" that you can adjust the "arm" I fold them down and put them in there (Also from Dollar Tree) For my scaps I went to the Office/school supply section and grabbed the plain yellow envelopes (without the bubbles) I got a pack of large and a pack of small (6 per pack for $1) I wrote in the top corner what is in them, I had an accoridan folder already but the large one, I use those to organize my prints for sublimation for ones I will be printing out multiple times, so instead of printing one out each time I need it, I print a full sheet or two, and store them there for future use :) . I also got my lint roller there (always have) but the newest one my local store has I dislike it, it doesn't peel off in one whole sheet like the older ones did, it peels at an angle leaving a strip with the lint on it that I have to pick at to get off.

Thanks for the hacks! I’m new to Cricut, so I am absorbing all I can. I subscribed! You have so many videos and I plan to watch all I can! I really want to see the video with the alcohol bottle, but can’t seem to find it. Could you please link it for me? Thanks again!

That glitter hack is good for classroom art teachers too. I quit glitter in the classroom pre-covid because I had enough of it everywhere and the janitor too! Even if you think you and the students got all of it. It'll surprise you at dinner, on a trip, etc. That hack gives me hope for glitter.

Another dollar tree marker suggesting. In the office section with the pens, they have marker/pen case. Holds about 10 in the groves. And if you lay other pens on their sides you can fit a couple more and still close the lid. The cricut markers fit perfectly in them. And they are thin and stackable. I have 4. Black in one, colors, metallics and glitter/-fabric pens in different cases.

i did the contact paper hack on my mat for felt. EPIC FAIL. I completely trashed my mat. My Maker cut the contact paper and when i went to remove it was in pieces.

I don't have a cricut (yet), but these hacks will work great in my sewing/machine embroidery room. I like the rubber band method for my stabilizer. Thanks for sharing....

you can also get the pencil grippers from the dollar tree if the marker or pen is to small and take the adapter out of slot a cut the gripper up the side and put it on the marker/pen and put it in the a slot and then you will just have to do test marks for how far the marker needs to be pushed down
